Junior high school students are in a key point of mental and physical growth.Mental health and social adaptation is one of the important goal of Physical education and Health Curriculum Standard,which have an important impact on students' learning and growth.Both the compulsory education and the general high school physical education and health curriculum standard made mental health and social adaptation as an important goal of the physical education and health curriculum.Physical education and Health Curriculum Standard(2011)proposes “through the learning of curriculum to develop students' favorable psychological qualities,cooperation and communication abilities,raise a conscious sense of keeping healthy,basically form a healthy lifestyle as well as optimistic and cheerful attitude towards life.” General Senior High School Physical education and Health Curriculum Standard(2017)takes athletic ability,healthy behavior and sports morality as the core literacy of sports and health disciplines.Healthy behavior is a comprehensive expression of improving physical and mental health and actively adapting to the external environment.The key to improving health and gradually forming a healthy and civilized lifestyle.However,traditional physical education and health curriculum focuses on the development of students' physical fitness and skills but ignore the development of students' mental health and social adaptation.How to apply curriculum to practice and effectively improve students' mental health and social adaptation,is an urgent problem to be solved in the current physical education and health curriculum.Based on above,this research intends to via reference and application foreign Adventure-based Learning the advanced concept and teaching methods of Adventure-based Learning,and integrating the current situation of physical education class and students,rationally design teaching plans and programs to implement them in physical education and health courses.so as to explore the influence on students' psychological health and social adaptability,improving the efficiency of China's physical education and health curriculum,and broaden the teaching mode of physical education and health in China.Based on a large amount of literature,through literature research method,interview to design and improve teaching plans,together with experimental,this study carried out an experimental research in Grade 8 of Qingdao No.59 Middle School.Class 8,an experimental class,are instructed by expanded teaching modes.Class 7,the controlled class,are instructed with regular methods.The experiment time is one semester.Pre and post experiments,questionnaires on psychological health and social adaptation were distributed to students in order to understand the changes of students' psychological health and social adaptation and verify the efficiency that broadened teaching modes have on improving students' psychological health and social adaptation.Through the experimental research,the following conclusions can be reached:Firstly,the physical education and health curriculum based on Adventure-based Learning effectively improve students' mental health and social adaptability,it has a very significant effect on alleviating hostility and learning pressure,improving emotional stability and self-awareness,and promoting interpersonal relationships,social interaction adaptability and family environment adaptability.Secondly,because of its cooperation and risk-taking Adventure-based Learning is not suitable for all sports.When applying in the physical education,should pay attention to the specific content of the project in combination with local conditions.It can be better applied to cheerleading,aerobatics as well as other group programs.Thirdly,in the application of the Adventure-based Learning,it should pay attention to the scientific plan based on its core elements,and evaluate the teaching plan with the corresponding tools to ensure its effectiveness.
