China is attaching more importance to ethnic unity education nowadays.In 2008 ethnic unity education was included into special education.Given that elementary school students are under a crucial period during which their worldview,values and national view gradually form,hidden perils in ethnic unity,social harmony and unification may arise unless correct guidance is provided.Therefore,introducing ethnic unity education at the elementary level caters to the demand of quality-oriented education and is beneficial for maintaining ethnic unity,social harmony and unification as well.There are a number of successful practices of ethnic unity education in ethnic minority areas,while researches in ethnic unity education in central cities are insufficient.In this paper,i use the literature,the questionnaire and the interview.Based on extensive literature,previous studies and investigation of Wuchang Huimin primary school,this paper has analyzed the current situation and problems of ethnic unity education in multi-ethnic mainland cities and tried to propose practicable solutions.It is composed of :Review of ethnic unity education,Investigation of current situation of ethnic unity education in Wuchang Huimin primary school and Analysis of investigation results and discussion,and suggestions to improve ethnic unity education. |
