The development of middle school students' human capital is the main purpose of family education input.Giddens said education has become an important stepping stone for people to get job opportunities and careers,and the greatest educational advantage for their children is also the direction for every family to develop their children.Family and school as the main place for the growth of middle school students have a very important impact on the development of middle school students' human capital.Parental involvement is actually an important link between family and school,and also an important intermediate mechanism.The main concern of this study is the effect of parental participation on the development of human capital of middle school students.The development of human capital refers to the conceptual framework of Heckman's human capital,including cognitive and non cognitive abilities.We are going to study the influence of parental involvement behavior on the development of middle school students' human capital.Secondly,we will further explore the gender role of parents,the gender differences and the age differences of the students in the process of parental participation,in order to understand the microscopic differences in the process of parental participation,and to further enrich the research content of parents' participation.Using the data of Chinese Education Panel Survey(CEPS)in 2014,the cognitive and non cognitive abilities of middle school students are taken as the dependent variables,and they are classified into family communication,academic supervision and home school communication according to the consensus category of parents' participation in the research field,and they are used as the core independent variables of the study.Through the school fixed effect model and the introduction of interactive items in the model,this study explores the overall and specific effects of parental participation on the development of middle school students' human capital.We find that parents' participation in the development of high school students' human capital needs to be viewed in accordance with the specific participation dimension,and not all parents' participation can play a positive role in anticipation.Through the analysis of the interaction terms,we found that parents' participation in the specific effects of the difference,the gender of the parents,the sex of the students and the age of the students will affect the specific effect of parental participation.Through this study,on the one hand,we can have a more comprehensive understanding of the role of parents' participation,especially the difference between parents' participation in specific effects,further refining the study of parents' participation in this field;on the other hand,this study has a certain help for parents and schools and teachers,for parents to mention.It can provide reference for high level of participation and promotion of high quality home school interaction.
