With the increasing improvement of the market economy system,and the deepening reform of the business entity,along with the public institution with its personal system in our country,it is hard to satisfy the development of the institution with the wage system used before.Especially,the area of income distribution has severely hampered the development of the enterprise.Thus,the reform of the performance pay system of the institution is imperative.On September 2,2009,the state council has made the decision of all national institutions implement the performance pay system.The performance pay system is a part of the income distribution,which mainly represents the working performance and the contribution of the staff.Hence,the implementation of the performance pay system has the positive influence on deepening the reform of the income distribution system and improving the quality of the public service.With the implementation of the performance pay system on compulsory education school,it is also urgent for the other business entities and the public institutions.Thus,the higher education institution has the nature of public service and undertakes the talents training,scientific research and social service functions as a part of the public institution.In the recent decade,colleges and universities in China have gradually implemented their performance pay system with their own characteristics,and the reforms reflected the classified administration and the job-related performance,according to their own situations and financial guarantees.Therefore,does the implementation of performance pay system really improve the job performance of colleges and universities?Hence,this paper is mainly about the positive analysis concerning the effect of performance salary reform on the university performance based on the survey data of 614 teaching staffs from the G University in Guangdong,and what the research has discovered can be seen as follow.The First,the performance pay reform is beneficial to optimize the overall performance of university,the teaching performance,the scientific research performance,the management performance,the service performance and the performance pay satisfaction of staff.The second,the fairness plays a moderating role in the relationship between the performance pay reform and the overall performance,the management performance and the service performance.The stronger the fairness,the greater the effect of performance salary reform on the overall performance,management performance and service performance.The third,the fairness has no moderating effect on the relationship between the performance pay reform and the teaching performance,as well as the scientific performance and the staff performance salary satisfaction.To improve the university performance,the research considers that universities ought to continue to carry out the performance salary reform.Meanwhile,it is supposed to improve the fairness of the reform.
