Practice Research And Model Construction Of The Cultivation Of Volunteers Based On Community Capability Building

Volunteer training is an important service area and research area for social work.This thesis takes the theory of community capacity building as the research perspective,and select the community volunteer service of Guangzhou B family integrated service center as the research object,and adopts literature research,symposium,individual in-depth interviews,participatory observation and other research methods to collect the practical materials of the B for nearly 5 years.And using the grounded theory research methods to analyze the process,strategies and effects of social worker intervention in community volunteers.Through the numeralization and conceptualization of the practice materials,this paper constructs the localization concept and measurement dimensions of“community capacity building”,and uses this dimension to refine the process of B social workers involvement in community volunteer cultivation as “ pioneeringgestation-development”three stages.After inducting and summarizing,social workers adopt different cultivation strategies at different stages:The pioneering stage is to develop community residents as community volunteers and to integrate volunteer resources both inside and outside the community.The gestation stage is to build volunteer interaction platforms and improve the skills of volunteers.The development stage is to cultivate community backbone volunteers and promote volunteers to participate in the community.The study found that the cultivation of volunteers based on community capacity building of B has been effective in promoting the improvement of volunteers' ability,enhancing individual awareness of empowerment and the belonging of the community,increasing the participation of community,expanding community volunteer resources so that increasing the community social capital.However,in the exploratory practice,there are also challenges such asinstability of volunteer resources,insufficient maintenance of interactive relationships of volunteers,and weak training of volunteer leaders.Based on theoretical analysis and practical research,this paper believes that it is feasible to build a theoretical model for the volunteer cultivation based on community capacity building,so from the three levels of human capital,organizational resources,and social capital of the community,analyzes the two paths of social worker involvement in volunteer cultivation,including through “ accumulating volunteer resources” and “lifting volunteer capabilities” to promote volunteers to participate in the community.And finally construct a theoretical model consists of six dimensions,the six dimensions include the accumulation of local volunteers,the integration of community volunteer resources,the construction of the interaction support network of volunteers,the promotion of the ability of the volunteer individuals and groups,the cultivation of the backbone of community volunteers,and the promotion of the participation of volunteers in the community.At the end of this paper,the applicability and limitations of the theoretical model are also discussed.It is believed that this model has strong theoretical significance and practical guidance significance for the promotion of community development and the sustainable development of volunteer services.However,because the model is based on the practical experience of the B-comprehensive research,its promotion has yet to be further evaluated and the model framework needs to be further revised and improved.
