The after-school hosting has become an important bridge for communication between family education and school education,and has had a tremendous impact on school education?family education,,and social education.From the perspective of educational function,this study explores he situation of after-school hosting in school education?family education,and social education.Influencing and existing problems,and proposing to improve the quality of rural after-school hosting for rural primary school students.In this paper,first-hand data contain 3 parts:(1)questionnaires have been collecting from pupils' parents from 25 afler-school care classes surrounding the central primary school in 3 towns separately(elementary school D,elementary school X and elementary school Y),however,in the same rural aera in Longyan City;(2)interviews have been taken with the teachers not only in the 25 after-school care classes,but also in 3 central primary school;(3)behavior-observation notes about the pupils and teachers in the 25 after-school care classes in one lasting month.Consequently,the 3 main methods in the s:tudy are questionnaire method,interview method and observation method.Based on the analysis of the data above,3 educational functions of after-school hosting for rural pupils have been formulated:(1)the function of assisting family education;(2)the function of supplementing school education;(3)the function of strengthening social education.Because of the educational functions,the existing problems and appropriate suggestions should be noticed in 2 parts as follows:(1)In terms of assisting family education,both the pupils' parents and the workers in the after-school care classes have bad safety-consciousness.Unfortunately,pupils 'parents usually over-rely on the entrusted teachers and lack of communication and cooperation with them.Moreover,most parents are short of the education theory ofindividual character cultivation and often too busy to care their children' s psychology.(2)In terms of supplementing school education,the teaching contents of rural after-school hosting have a strong bias towards schoolwork but the environment needs to be improved.On the other hand,the pupils' learning methods also need to be improved,and the enthusiasm and initiative of learning and the happiness gaining from learning need to be care and raised.
