The rapid development of information technology has subverted people's previous production and life style, and has enabled the integration of Internet innovation and social life. However, not all people can enjoy the dividend brought by the development of the Internet. There are obvious differences in the use of the Internet among different age groups.Young people tend to use the Internet more extensively and frequently, which is the main force of contemporary Internet use.Because of the influence of age, body and other internal attributes, the proportion of the elderly using the Internet is relatively low. Then, based on the different use of Internet by different age groups,is there a significant intergenerational difference in the impact of Internet use on subjective well-being?This study used CGSS data from 2010 to 2015 to construct a national mixed cross-section data, and explored the intergenerational differences in the impact of different ages on the use of the Internet on their subjective well-being in the context of the rapid development of informatioin technology. The"vulnerable groups"used by the Internet have been studied, and the internal mechanism of this intergenerational difference has been further analyzed. This is not only important for advancing the Internet development process, but also conducive to further optimizing Internet tools and allowing groups of different ages to share the dividends brought about the development of the Internet. This paper finds that:First,in general,Internet use can have a positive impact on subjective well-being,but this positive effect is weakening.Second, young people use the Internet to have the most positive impact on their subjective well-being.However,this positive effect is gradually decreasing.Third, the impact of Internet use on happiness is that although the use efficiency of middle-aged and older people is lower than that of young people, the positive effect is constantly strengthening.Through further analysis of the different trends of this intergenerational difference, the study found that middle-aged and older people can more effectively enhance th eir subjective well-being through Internet entertainment use than the youth group. Finally, based on the above conclusions,we propose targeted use of the Internet for different age groups to further optim ize internet tool so that everyone can share the results of Internet development and maximize the role of the Internet in building positive psychology.
