From the first tide of migrant of floating population of1980’s, the migration ofRural—urban entered a new stage and show a new characteristic. Since the reformand opening policy, more and more floating population rushed into cities. Themovement of migrants is a major social phenomenon. Which emerged in socialtransformation, economic transformation and the population changes period Floatingpopulations’ wills and process reflects their living environment in the destination.Indicates different groups in the process of social transformation whether or not canenjoy the same treatment. Meanwhile, it also reflects the service concept of people—oriented. The migrants’ social assimilation is not only a simple population problem,it also relates to the migrants’ development ability. Meanwhile, it reflects theeconomics structure and the system of public policy and macro aspects.With the development of economy, Jilin Province’s floating population scale isbecoming more and larger. As we can see from the sixth census data, the numberof floating population in Jilin Province nearly2.42million, as the loose of thehousehold registration system, a large number rural surplus labor force into the moredeveloped cities. Floating population’s social integration not only directly relates tothe healthy and orderly development of urban economy, but also is an importantfactor on social stability.Firstly, we will summary some theory of integration domestic and overseas.Then, systematically give the evaluation index system of social integration of thefloating population. In our research, We will combined with related content of the2012nationalpopulation dynamic monitoring survey data in Jilin Province. We then divide socialintegration into three dimensions—economic integration, behavioral adjustment,identity. We will take turns to analysis the three dimensions of different generationmigrants’ social integration. At the same time, we will also to compare thedifferences between different generations. Next, we will analysis the most importantpart of this article. In this part we will mainly study the factors, which affects thesocial integration of floating population in Jilin Province and compare thedifferences between different groups.Finally, we will put forward suggestions to promote the social integration of thefloating populations in Jilin Province. This is also the ultimate purpose of theresearch.
