Based on the relevant theories of teacher education research and the research findings of classroom teacher-student interaction,this study investigates the current situation of teacher-student interaction in teachers' classes,analyses the problems of teacher-student interaction in teachers' classes,explores the causes of the problems through classroom observation and interviews and then puts forward the countermeasures of and ways to cultivating the practical ability of teacher-student interaction in teachers' classes.The experimental subjects are normal students who are teaching in Lanzhou D Middle School.They come to the classes together with the normal students.They mainly interview the students and teachers and observe the teacher-student interaction(including those in lectures,discussions,questions and evaluations),non-verbal interaction concerned(including their expression,action and spatial distance between the teacher and students).The main problems of teacher-student interaction in the classroom of normal university students found in the research and development are as follows.To begin with,in terms of classroom verbal interaction: there is a great gap between teachers' theory and their teaching practice from the perspective of presentation;from the frequency of questions,the whole class are asked more questions than individuals;from the perspective of the scope of questions,students are given unequal opportunities for interaction;from the perspective of the types of interactive questions,closed-ended questions dominate the class;from the perspective of the frequency of classroom discussions,there are less and less discussions and the time for the discussions is limited;in terms of students' participation,they have strong motivation in participation while the output is discouraging;in terms of normal students' participation,there is their low engagement.At the same time there are more problems in the normal student performance during the classes,such as inadequate feedback and motivation in their evaluations,the lack of verbal language interaction,etc.What's more,the scope of normal students' activities is limited to the platform.The causes of the problems are listed as follows: the negative impact of traditional exam-oriented education on basic education;insufficient attention to the cultivation of teacher-student interaction ability in normal colleges;the irrational curriculum structure of teachers' colleges and universities,in which there is lack of practical courses;the deficient evaluation mechanism of teachers' competence;the fact that the teachers from normal colleges and universities have failed to play a "demonstrative role" and the quality of students' placement is not guaranteed;normal students' lack of attention to the improvement of their ability to interact with their students in the classroom,etc.Finally,the researcher puts forward the specific countermeasures to improve the teacher-student interaction ability in normal school classroom,that is,further promotion of the classroom teaching reform;more emphasis put on the training of teachers' competence by normal colleges optimization of the curriculum structure at normal colleges and increase of practical courses;improvement of the evaluation mechanism of normal students' teaching competence in favor of the efficiency of classroom teaching;normal colleges should pay more attention to the training of teachers' students' practical ability competence.Colleges and universities should reform the way of classroom teaching and make effective use of classroom resources.Normal universities should also ensure the effective interaction between teachers and students in the classroom;for normal students,the process of introspection and reflection should be kept on to improve teachers' competence in interacting with their students.
