SOJS(NOJS)is the abbreviation of the southern(northern)region of Jiangsu Province,respectively.SOJS is the most developed region in Jiangsu.Most of the economic indicators are much higher than in NOJS.Economic development and geographical location have an impact on local education.Therefore,there are some differences in various aspects of education in the two region.We conduct a questionnaire survey of the current physical education status of junior high schools in SOJS and NOJS to teachers and students.Then we do statistical analysis and propose corresponding suggestions based on the research results,which may be helpful to the education administrative department to introduce relevant policies.The content of the paper is as follows:First of all,it briefly introduces the background of the topic,the purpose and significance of the research,the status quo and methods of education research in China and overseas and the geographical location and economic profile of SOJS and NOJS.Moreover,we introduce the education status of Suzhou and Yancheng as examples respectively.Then,we design questionnaires of teachers and students for studying physics education status of the two junior high schools.We distribute questionnaires to all physics teachers and part of students in the Suzhou Xinghu School and the Yancheng Binhuai Farm School,respectively.We conduct statistical and differential analysis to results of questionnaires.It can be found that the number of weekly classes in SOJS School is much less than that in NOJS.Students in SOJS have more interests,better habits and less pressure in physics learning.They can take part in more physics extracurricular activities.The average level of physics teachers in SOJS is higher than that in NOJS.Physics teacher's job satisfaction in SOJS is higher than that in NOJS.There are more school and family resources in SOJS than that in NOJS.Finally,according to results of our study,we put forward a series of suggestions based on the Outline of the National Medium-and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan(2010-2020),such as making up for the gaps in teaching conditions,improving education and teaching activities,strengthening construction of teaching team and influences from families,increasing mutual assistance and exchanges.
