Since the implementation of the family planning policy, the number of children born to the family has been restricted, and the surging emergence of single-child families has also been aggravated, which increased the social risk index. In other words, with the implementation of the family planning policy, more and more families are facing the risk of losing their only child. The "young parents who lost their only child" have also become "the elderly who lost their only child" as the years passed. How can this special group repair unbalanced family functions, how to re-establish social exchanges that have been broken due to loss of their only child and how to make " the elderly who lost their only child" return to the society,is undoubtedly an important issue in the current society. The elderly who lost their only child are a vulnerable group in society, and the problems brought about by this social phenomenon have always been around the elderly. In particular, the old people's resistance to social interactions and avoidance of participating in normal social interaction activities has seriously affected the life quality of the elderly in their later years. Therefore, the author believes that it is of great significance to intervene in the social avoidance of the elderly.Through the observation of the social avoidance problem of the elderly who have lost their only child, the groups with common characteristics are selected, and the most representative old people are selected for in-depth research. Therefore, the author selected the group work combined with the transactional analysis mode to intervene to study the social avoidance problem of the elderly in Wuhan. The transactional analysis mode mainly describes the state of the individual in the process of interpersonal communication, which is divided into three typesindividual under the parent state, the individual under the adult state, and the individual under the child state. They are also called the P-A-C theory. The “P” state mainly shows great control desire and authority. It usually shows that he or she likes to control others or blame others to demonstrate his or her authoritative style.Contrary to “P”,“C” shows a more dependent or reversal mind."A" is in a sensible state to detect all kinds of irrational phenomena under the "P" and "C" states,so that those elderly people can achieve a balanced interpersonal relationship, while "A" also has predictive effect, which can view the problem from multiple perspectives according to the law of development between things,so that those elderly people can reasonably respond to emergencies.According to the above description, when social work practice is used to intervene in the social avoidance problem of the elderly, the purpose is to enhance the self(A)under the adult state and weaken the other two self states. Finally, the author has reflected on the social avoidance of the elderly in the group work and the ethics and methods of social work.It is expected that the group work under the interactive analysis mode will provide a new way of thinking about the solution of the social avoidance problem of the elderly who lost their only child. At the same time, they are also expected to arouse the attention of the community on the special group of the elderly who have lost their only child and build a new normal harmony relations.
