The Relationship Between Parenting Style Differences And Psychological Resilience Of Junior High School Students

The purpose of this study is to research into the relationship between parenting style differences and psychological resilience of junior high school students,verify the mediating effect of Sense of Coherence between them,and further explore the relationship among the three in the case of specific parenting style differences and examine their gender differences.The study,randomly selected 1169 middle school students from 6 middle schools in Xi'an,Baoji,Hebei,Xinji and Shijiazhuang to participate in.They were tested with S-EMBU-C,SOC-13 and RSCA.The results are as follows:First,parenting style difference negatively predicts mental resilience.Specifically speaking,The difference of parenting styles in three dimensions of rejection,emotional warmth and overprotection has a negative predictive effect on psychological resilience.Second,differences in parenting styles negatively predicted psychological congruence.To be specific,differences in parents' rejection of parenting style,warm parenting style and overprotective parenting style negatively predicted psychological coherence.Third,sense of coherence can mediate the relationship between parenting style difference and psychological resilience.Specifically,sense of coherence can partially mediate the relationship between parental differences and psychological resilience in refusal of parenting,warm parenting,over-protective parenting.Fourth,in the indirect effect of different parenting styles on psychological resilience through sense of coherence,there are inter-group differences.Specifically,when the warmth shown by the father is consistent with the warmth of the mother,the prediction of psychological consistency is stronger than when the warmth of the father is higher than that of the mother,and the greater the difference,the lower the level of psychological coherence.Fifth,There are gender differences in the indirect effects of the differences in the way of upbringing,which affect the resilience through the sense of psychological congruence.Specifically speaking,when the father shows the same rejection as the mother,there is a gender difference in the path from rejection difference to psychological consistency,and the load of female is significantly higher than that of male.When the warmth of the father is higher than that of the mother,there is a gender difference in the path from warmth difference to mental resilience and psychological consistency feeling of mental resilience,and the load of female students is higher than that of male students.When the overprotection of the father is consistent with that of the mother,there is a gender difference in the path from protection difference to psychological consistency,and the load of the female is significantly higher than that of the male.
