The popularity of the "second generation" series of words reflects the declining social mobility and the growing solidification of social strata. On the one hand, the solidification of social strata makes many low-income families produce the idea of "uselessness of reading".At the same time,it also makes high-income families lack the sense of crisis and lose the motivation to work hard.On the one hand, the low mobility of intergenerational income impedes the mobility of different income strata, which leads to a more serious phenomenon of stratum solidification and a vicious circle. On the other hand, low intergenerational income mobility is essentially a reflection of unfair opportunities.Individual efforts are vulnerable before the starting point and unfair opportunities. If it continues to be serious,it will arouse contradictions among different classes, thus causing social unrest. This paper uses intergenerational income liquidity theory to measure intergenerational income liquidity in China, and modifies the model with instrumental variable method. The data of China's Intergenerational Income Liquidity Survey(CHIPS)in 2013 are analyzed. The differences of intergenerational income mobility among different groups are discussed and compared from different perspectives, such as urban and rural perspectives, gender perspectives and income levels. Then, from the two aspects of human capital and social capital,it explores how the two kinds of capital affect intergenerational income mobility. The final results show that the intergenerational income mobility in China is at a low level at the present stage. The phenomenon of social stratum solidification is serious.Human capital and social capital have an important impact on intergenerational income mobility.Human capital is still the main factor affecting intergenerational income mobility. However, occupational inheritance factors have become the most important factor restricting social mobility and the phenomenon of stratum solidification. Finally, some policy suggestions are put forward in terms of promoting the equitable distribution of educational resources, paying attention to the physical quality education of the whole people, and improving the occupational equity in the labor market.
