In recent years,the overseas Chinese learners are becoming younger and younger,and more preschool children(three to six years old)have joined the ranks of Chinese learners.Children are in the critical period of language acquisition and have obvious advantages in Chinese learning,but at present,the development of children's Chinese teaching does not adapt to the requirements of the situation.In southern Thailand,Chinese teaching has a long history and a good foundation,but interracial marriage is serious and the continuity of Chinese inheritance is affected.There are both favorable and unfavorable conditions in developing Chinese teaching.Therefore,based on the situation of Chinese teaching for young children in southern Thailand of the investigation and research has certain significance.This paper first summarizes the basic conditions for the development of Chinese teaching in the south of Thailand,then takes nine representative schools in the south of Thailand as the survey object,through the questionnaire method,interview method,classroom observation method to fully understand the current situation of the development of Chinese teaching for young children in the south of Thailand.The survey results show that the current situation of young children's Chinese teaching in the south of Thailand is flourishing,which is generally manifested as: more Chinese class hours;higher teachers' professional background and higher quality;Chinese teachers in China and Thailand working together to teach;and strong support from the government and parents.However,there are also many problems,which are manifested in the lack of overall design of Chinese education,the weak strength of children's Chinese teachers,the urgent need to develop children's Chinese teaching materials,the poor effect of children's Chinese teaching,the shortage of children's Chinese teaching resources,and the poor family Chinese environment.In view of the problems existing in the teaching of Chinese in children of Tainan,this paper puts forward further suggestions for improvement,including: optimizing the teaching of Chinese in children Learning top-level design,establishing a stable professional teaching staff,developing native Thai children's Chinese teaching materials,multi-prongedapproach to improve the quality of classroom teaching,improve children's Chinese teaching resources,and improve the family Chinese education environment.
