Math anxiety is a kind of special subject. It refers to the adverse emotional reactions, such as panic, nervousness and confusion, that occur when an individual is learning mathematical knowledge, solving mathematical problems or taking mathematical exams, accompanied by corresponding physiological reactions, such as accelerated heartbeat, dizziness, sweating and nausea, which have an impact on the results and efficiency of mathematical activities.Excessive math anxiety is not good for students' correct self-cognition.With the upgrading of math difficulty and the pressure of entering higher schools, primary school students are more likely to have math anxiety and even more serious consequences due to their lack of experience. Therefore,it is the focus of this study to pay attention to the mathematics anxiety of high grade primary school students to explore its causes, and to put forward specific and effective measures to alleviate math anxiety. This study is divided into three parts. In the first part,on the theoretical basis of previous studies, descriptive statistics and analysis are made on the mathematical anxiety status of primary school students in the upper grades through scale assessment and data analysis.According to the results of statistical data,it is found that the score distribution of mathematics anxiety is generally normal. Most of the students in the high level of primary school are in the middle level of mathematics anxiety, but a small number of students can not be ignored. As for the gender difference in math anxiety, data analysis results showed that the total score of math anxiety in girls was significantly higher than that in boys, and girls showed higher math anxiety and math expectation. In terms of the relationship between math anxiety and math achievement, math anxiety in male and female groups is significantly negatively correlated with math achievement, and linear fitting results show that math anxiety score can significantly negatively predict math achievement. In addition,a unique finding of this study is that the inverted u-shaped relationship between math anxiety and math performance was found in the female group, while only the linear relationship was found in the male group. In the second part,Based on the data analysis results,a typical case of high, moderate and low math anxiety was selected.Through classroom observation and interview analysis, thecauses of math anxiety of high grade primary school students were summarized. It mainly includes the particularity of mathematics subject, the particularity of psychological development and thinking development of high school students,as well as related personal factors and social factors. The third part is on the basis of the above research results, through the preliminary intervention of high math anxiety cases, combined with the intervention results to put forward targeted measures to alleviate the math anxiety of high grade primary school students.Students need to know mathematics correctly, enhances the mathematics study interest; Objective analysis of the cause, enhance self-confidence;Strengthen communication with teachers, parents and students.Teachers should constantly improve own quality to cultivate students' interest in mathematics;Carry out mathematics learning strategy education;Adopt multiple evaluation method to improve students' self-efficacy.Parents should be based on the reality to set a reasonable mathematical learning objectives for the child;Mathematical life experience;Maintain effective communication and keep an eye on your child's mental development.
