The Influence Of Parental Homogeneity Education Matching On Children's Education

The matching elements of modern marriage are different from the traditional society which emphasis on the family background,and they are more based on the self-conditions of both parties.Among the various economic and social indicators,the educational matching between the two sides is particularly important,and education has gradually become the main standard of marriage.At present,domestic research on parental education and marriage is mainly focused on the changes in the marriage model and the impact on family income.On the other hand,the educational level of both parents has an important impact on the education of their children.Generally speaking,the higher the level of parental education,they will focus on cultivating and will give their children's more human capital,as well their children can get a higher level of education.From the inheritance of Confucian culture in history to the new era of socialism,education plays a decisive role.On the one hand,education can promote personal development and play an important role in cultivating values,knowledge and skills.On the other hand,the popularization and promotion of education has improved the overall level of education of the society,and has greatly promoted social progress and national development.Many domestic scholars have studied the impact of changes in parental education on family income,but ignored the impact of parental education homogeneity on children's education.Based on the related literatures at home and abroad,this paper analyzes the influence mechanism of parent education on children's education on the basis of marriage matching and intergenerational mobility of human capital.In the empirical aspect,this paper uses the survey data of CGSS2010,2012,and 2015,and uses the OLS model regression analysis and the robustness test of the Ologit model.Comparing with the full sample,random matching,the staggered matching of parental education and the influence of parental education matching on children's education under different education levels.At the same time,we have given the relevant conclusions and corresponding policy recommendations.When parental education is homogenous,the influence of parent education on children's education is significantly positive,and the influence of father education on children's education is greater than that of mother education on children's education.The influence of father education on children's education is increasing year by year.The impact of mother education on children's education has declined year by year.In order to prove that the improvement of children's education is the result of the homogeneity of parental education,we construct the family data under random matching conditions.The analysis shows that the influence of parental education on children's education is not significant under random matching condition,and the influence of children's education less than the influence of parental education on children's education under the homogenous matching condition,which further shows that the homogenous matching of parental education can significantly improve the education level of children.Under the matching of the split layer,the influence of father education on children's education is always less than the impact of father education on children's education under the condition of positive matching;but mother education has the opposite effect.In the family which father education is greater than mother education,the influence of mother education is greater than the effect of positive matching,while in the family which mother education is greater than father education,the impact of mother education is less than the impact of positive matching.In further analysis,we divided the sample into primary school,junior high school and above,high school and above according to the level of parental education.The analysis found that when the parental education is raised from primary school to junior high school and above,the homogeneity of parental education not only improved the level of education of children,but also narrowed the gap of children education between different families.Comparing with the regression results under the condition of positive matching,we found that the influence of parent education on children's education under three education levels is greater than that under positive matching,indicating that the matching of parents under any education level can promote the education level of children.Combined with the above relevant conclusions,this paper suggests that the society should actively pay attention to improving the level of people's education,when parents have higher academic qualifications,the offspring will easily get more human capital investment from parents,the educational gap between the offspring will be narrowed;the intergenerational flow of education in China is more obvious,we must further improve the mobility of intergenerational education and further narrow the solidification of social class and the educational gap between families.The country should combine the development status of China,gradually narrow the inequality of educational resources,education funds and educational opportunities between different regions by policy reforms.The country should continue to carry forward the current educational advantages and encourage the families with rich resources to invest more to their children's education,and improve the level of social education as well.
