The main purpose of Moral and Legal Education lesson is to further develop students' morality,mental health,legal and citizen awareness so as to be more positive towards life by gradually forming right values.It is especially important for junior high students who are at the stage of cultivating morality and legal awareness,as well as social responsibility and practicable ability.Case study,as the main teaching method,has combined knowledge and practice,which is interesting and reasonable in that it corresponds with junior high students' cognitive features and stimulates their enthusiasm.Therefore,we are supposed to base on students' study situation and involve case study in the learning process of Moral and Legal Education lessons,thus pushing forward their combination.The thesis is conducted from the perspectives of theory and practice on the teaching process and results of Moral and Legal Education lessons in junior high schools.First and foremost,it defines case and case teaching theoretically.Case study is not merely a teaching method or mode,but rather it is mainly a kind of educational conception.Then it explores the theoretical basis,thinking resources.The whole analysis is conducted on the human-oriented thought,learning from practicing(by Dewey),constructivism and Rodgers' humanistic psychology and other educational concepts.As for practice,the employment of questionnaire,interview and the research into the current cases have narrowed the distance between teaching materials and students,thus improving the communication betxveen teachers and students.However,there are some main questions worthy of attention,for example,the ambiguols teaching purpose,the impertinent case study,the lack of inefficient teaching guidance and the negation of process.These altogether are attributed to the unqualified teaching training,the inefficient assessment system,the poor ability of teaching staff and students'unwillingness to take part in the whole class.The thesis emphasizes on the measures taken to improve the effectiveness of Moral and Legal Education in junior high schools,ranging from highlighting teaching aims,selecting cases,designing participating process,and renewing roles to improving teachers' ability,with a view to realizing the purpose of morality cultivation in junior high Moral and Legal Education classes.
