With the development of enrollment expansion in higher education,higher education has been placed in a strategic position of priority development.Up to now,the development of higher education has entered a new stage of development and has achieved a series of major achievements.Along with the continuous expansion of education scale,the gradual improvement of infrastructure construction,the gradual improvement of education system and the overall improvement of education quality,the talent supply and the ability of scientific research and innovation in universities have been significantly enhanced.The exchanges between China and foreign countries in higher education have become more frequent.More and more intermational academic exchanges and the recognition of the international eommunity,along with the good situation of economic development,the development of China's higher education has gradually entered the fast lane of development.China's latest statistical report on the development of education shows that the gross enrollment rate of higher education has reached 40.0%,and higher education has gradually completed the transition from elite higher education to popular higher education.However,in the process of rapid development of higher education,problems such as the gap in the level of higher education development have emerged.In particular,the gap in the level of higher education development in different regions is gradually widening.In the new era and new steps,we are committed to building a socialist society with Chinese characteristics and realizing the beautiful Chinese dream.Under the new era,we understand the spatial distribution characteristics of higher education,grasp the imbalance of regional development,and strive to narrow the gap between higher education.To achieve fairness and justice in the development of education is imminent.This paper focuses on higher education.Firstly,from the development environment and development status of higher education in the three regions of East,Central and West China,tthe paper discusses the geographical environment,economic level and the basic development of higher education in China's eastern,central and western regions.Make readers have an understanding of the development of higher education in China in recent years.Based on this,the development level of higher education is comprehensively measured from the three dimensions of education scale,education quality and funding,and six indicators.After standardizing the indicators,SPSS20.0 is used to aggregate China's higher education resources.Class analysis,learned the comprehensive development level and development trend of higher education in all regions of the country.Furthermore,considering the importance of spatial factors in the allocation of higher education resources,the ESDA spatial data method is used on the basis of cluster analysis,and the spatial distribution of higher education in China is studied by means of GeoDa software.Correlation,find out the characteristics and shortcomings of higher education in spatial distribution,point out the current problems in the development of higher education,and put forward rationalization suggestions.Through empirical research,it can be seen that there is a significant global autocorrelation in the development of provincial higher education,and the phenomenon of local spatial agglomeration is more obvious.The development level of higher education in the eastern,central and western regions of China is quite different,and the problem of uneven development of higher education is more significant.On the whole,the resources of higher education are gradually decreasing from east to west.From a partial perspective,the overall level of higher education development in the eastern region is relatively high.The overall level of higher education development in the central and western regions is relatively backward,and in recent years,higher education in the central and western regions The state of underdevelopment has not changed.Based on the results of empirical research and the characteristics of higher education in China,the countermeasures are proposed as follows:First,the development of higher education in China requires government policy guidance,the government should be committed to improving the imbalance of regional education development;secondly,to promote regional higher education funding,Improve the level of economic development and improve the status quo of education;finally,promote the balanced development of education in all regions of China and achieve educational equity.
