In China,ideological and political education is of great significance for cultivating outstanding talents who are responsible for the mission of the times,implementing the fundamental task of developing virtuous person,and ensuring the long-term development of the party and the national cause.Ideological and political education is not the "patent" of any class,but a universal practice in the human class society.Other countries may does not necessarily have a course called "ideological and political Education",but they must have the reality of "ideological and political education".The ubiquitous existence of ideological and political education in modern society has laid the foundation for us to carry out comparative ideological and political education.In contemporary England,the form of education that bears the same function as China's ideological and political education called "citizenship education".In the 1980s,the citizenship education in England began to enter the stage of rapid development after being led by the central government.Then it has achieved considerable results both in theory and in practice,which has profound reference significance for the development of ideological and political education in China.On the basis of clarifying the meaning of students' ideological and political education from different perspectives in China and England,this paper makes a detailed comparison between the objectives,contents and methods of ideological and political education in China and England in the twenty years of the 21st century,and summarizes the similarities and differences between them.Then,through two official investigation reports on the effectiveness of Ideological and political education in China and England,the paper expounds the achievements and problems of Ideological and political education with charts.Finally,based on the historical position of China in the new era,and in the reflection of the existing problems of our country,in the reference of the lessons and advanced experience of England,This paper tries to provide reference for the development of ideological and political education in the new era from three aspects:objective,content and method.In terms of the objective,the goal of our ideological and political education in the new era should be around the "moral cultivation" and"socialist successors and builders".In terms of content,we should take the issue as the orientation to further consolidate the content of ideological and political education,including needs education,patriotism education,community education with a Shared future for mankind and media literacy education.In terms of methods,we should have the concept of student-oriented,from the four perspectives of teachers,the application of new media,social practice and the establishment of a cohesive system,enhancing the attraction and effectiveness of Ideological and political education jointly.
