The importance of education is self-evident.With the popularization of national education and the improvement of public awareness, the education industry has undergone tremendous changes.Teenagers' education years are steadily rising, the quality of basic education in the education system is increasingly demanding, and the rapid development of the education market also reflects parents and students' thirst for more educational resources.Living in a first-tier city like Shanghai,we can feel competition and pressure everywhere. Each family parents do not want their children to fall behind, poor families are no exception, either. It is the wish of all poor families to educate those noble children, but not all poor families carry out this wish.Nowadays, poor families divide into two paths in teenager education. Some families invest in education for a long time with the goal of "educating noble children",while others are hopeful and feel difficult to achieve it,which abandon their expectations of higher education for teenagers.Relevant studies at home and abroad all show that the educational expectations of individuals and families in adolescence play a vital role in their growth and development;while in reality, educational expectations seem to show two sides—some children are motivated by educational expectations to enhance their academic enthusiasm, and the high performance of the curriculum is constantly stimulate stronger learning psychological motivation;the other part of the children, because of the psychological burden of educational expectations, lead to academic burnout, whom forming a gap between expectations and reality. Therefore, through in-depth interviews with parents and children of 16 groups of low-income households, the purpose of the study is to find out family's educational expectations for adolescents and the investment in adolescent education,to analyze the accumulation of assets in the use of these households from the perspectives of tangible capital and intangible capital by using the theory of Asset Construction.Extremely effective behavior and urgently needed assistance which can inspire social workers' intervention. The study found that most low-income households have high expectations for adolescents, and low-expectation households only have limited educational input because of insufficient family assets. In terms of economic capital, the burden of education is heavy, the behavior of family investment and savings is unscientific.Besides, some families are dependent on welfare benefits. In terms of intangible capital,low-income households members have the low level of human capital. There are great differences between communication and education concepts of low-income households.Besides, families do not have the awareness and initiative of using existing public cultural resources, which need social workers to advocate and publicize. In this regard, the study proposes that social workers should help households with low-income insurance realize the importance of education, use educational expectations to stimulate learning initiative and persistence,to establish a healthy mentality and correct financial management concept,to increase emotional input,to improve family members' emotional communication and stress resistance, and link social resources to low-income households to provide necessary assistance.
