A Study On The Amphibious Phenomenon Of Rural Family Under Urban-Rural Relationship Perspective

Urban-rural relations have always had an important impact on Chinese society.This influence is not only reflected in the economic field,but also affects people's family life.In the process of Chinese urbanization,rural residents continue to migrate to urban areas,while still maintaining contact with the countryside,thus provoking the discussion about amphibious farmers.From the perspective of the family,with the establishment of the offspring family and the entry into the city,members of the rural family are scattered between urban and rural areas but remain closely connected,maintaining the family structure and function in multiple spaces.Most family studies about urban or rural families are carried out in the narrative of individualization and modernization,but the amphibious phenomenon(or parallelization)of these rural families is also worthy of academic attention and research.The amphibious rural families,along with the process of urbanization,has a fairly high degree of universality.The amphibious phenomenon of rural families is not only a simple question of "yes" and "no",but also has a degree of difference;Some families go back and forth between urban and rural areas every day or week and the frequency of amphibiousness is high,but some families may return once every year,and the frequency of amphibiousness is very low.Taking the urban-rural relationship as a theoretical perspective,this paper abandons the urban-rural dualism adopted in previous research,instead it takes the spatial distance between urban and rural areas as the entry point,and takes the daily amphibious phenomenon of rural families as the research object.Based on the survey data of the villagers collected in the Yangtze River Delta region,the quantitative study was conducted to study whether the probability of amphibiousness in rural households was affected by different factors,and further discussed the factors affecting different amphibiousness levels.Based on the results of the logistic regression model and the multiple linear regression model,the research found that the greater the spatial distance between urban and rural areas,the higher the probability of amphibiousness;modern factors have increased the amphibious probability of rural households,and they also make the amphibious level higher.Therefore,the thesis discusses the urban and rural amphibious structure of rural families in the multi-space development of family life,and the balance between the traditional and modern families within the amphibious structure.Finally,the thesis considers possibilities and potential of regarding amphibian as a family research perspective with Chinese characteristics.
