Objective:Through the 12 week handball teaching experiment for primary school students,and compared with the control class of traditional physical education,this study studies the influence of handball teaching on the health related physical fitness and mental health of primary school students,so as to provide reference for the scientific handball training on campus,and lay a foundation for the promotion of handball on campus.Methods:This study mainly adopts the experimental method,questionnaire survey and other research methods.Taking the fifth grade students of Xinjie primary school in Tianchang as the experimental objects,class 1 and class 2 are divided into handball class and control class.The control class carries on the routine physical education teaching,the handball class carries on the handball teaching and training and competition intervention for 12 weeks.Before and after the intervention,the height,weight,vital capacity,step index,sit up,standing long jump and sit forward flexion of primary school students are measured to reflect the changes of health related physical fitness,the mental health of primary school students was assessed by MHRSP.Results:(1)? after 12 weeks of intervention,the height of students in handball class and control class increased significantly,and their weight and BMI decreased significantly(P=0.000,P=0.013,P=0.000).Although the change range of height,weight and BMI of students in handball class were higher than those in control class,there was no significant difference.?After teaching intervention,the vital capacity and step index in handball class or control class increased significantly(P=0.000),and the increase range of vital capacity and step index in handball class was significantly greater than that in control class(P=0.000).? The number of sit ups and standing long jump distance in handball class or control class increased significantly after teaching intervention(P=0.000),and the increasing range of the number of sit ups and standing long jump distance in handball class was significantly higher than that in control class(P=0.000).?Both handball class and control class showed a significant increase in sit forward flexion after teaching intervention(P=0.000),and the increase range in handball class was significantly greater than that in control class(P=0.000).(2)After teaching intervention,the scores of learning disability factor,emotional disability factor,personality disability factor,social adaptation disability factor,moral deficiency factor,bad habit factor,behavior disability factor and special disability factor in handball class and control class decreased significantly(P=0.000).The improving range of scores of adaptive factors,moral defects,bad habits,behavior disorders and special disorders in handball class were significantly higher than those in the control group(P=0.000).Conclusion:(1)Handball teaching and routine physical education can effectively improve the physical form,cardiopulmonary fitness,muscle fitness and flexibility fitness of primary school students,and handball teaching can significantly improve the cardiopulmonary fitness,muscle fitness and flexibility fitness of primary school students,but there is no significant difference between the improvement of body composition and routine physical education.(2)Handball teaching and routine physical education can effectively improve the mental health of primary school students,and handball teaching in improving the mental health of primary school students has a good effect.
