Culture,as the soul of a nation,is an important support for its prosperity and development.Cultural self-confidence is the subject's high recognition of their own culture and the rational attitude to foreign culture.According to the report of the 19th national congress,the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation requires a high degree of cultural self-confidence and cultural prosperity."Strong youths lead to a strong country".As the main force of the future construction of the country,the high level of cultural self-confidence of the youth affects the progress of the national cultural cause,and also the height that China on the world stage.And middle school is the turning point of teenagers' life.The development and formation of outlook on life and values play a crucial role in their survival in a complex and diversified society.However,under the impact of multiculturalism,the cultural confidence of junior middle school students had been affected in different degrees.Therefore,the cultivation of junior high school students' cultural self-confidence is of distinct era and practical significance.Chinese reading is an important way to cultivate cultural confidence.Reading courses can guide junior high school students to establish cultural self-confidence.However,junior high school students in possession of distinct personalities,and peer interaction is an important factor affecting their growth and development.And whether the interaction between peers will affect the cultural self-confidence of junior high school students in Chinese reading needs to be further explored.This study,based on the review of relevant domestic and foreign studies,theoretically establishes the relationship between peer interaction and cultural self-confidence in Chinese reading and proposes hypotheses.It adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods,and uses a variety of research methods including questionnaire survey,interview and classroom observation.In this study,the junior high school students who participated in the whole book reading activity in a middle school in Xian'an,Hubei province,were taken as the research object,and the relationship between the peer interaction and cultural self-confidence of junior high school students in the Chinese reading activity was further verified by collecting the peer interaction and cultural self-confidence of junior high school students in the reading activity through the questionnaires.And putting forward the corresponding strategies to improve the cultural self-confidence of junior middle school students in Chinese reading activity according to the experimental results.The results of questionnaire survey and classroom observation show that there is a significant correlation between cultural self-confidence and peer interaction in Chinese reading activity,which verifies the promotion effect of peer interaction in Chinese reading activity on the cultivation of junior high school students' cultural self-confidence.As a result,based on the research results and interview contents,this study proposes relevant strategies for the improvement of junior high school students'cultural self-confidence.
