The important role of non-cognitive ability on individual labor market performance and social behavior has been continuously recognized.As the most basic social organization or social system,the family is the most important socialized place for children and adolescents,and has the closest relationship with the development of children and adolescents' non-cognitive abilities.It is of great academic and practical significance to explore the impact of family factors investment on the non-cognitive development of children and adolescents and its mechanism.Based on this,this study focuses on the question of "how does family education investment affect the development of children's non-cognitive abilities",and selects 2117 families in 13 counties and cities in Hubei Province as the research object,from the perspective of human capital investment,to explore family education investment in central China The situation,the effect of family education investment on the development of children's non-cognitive ability and the micro-function mechanism.Aims to further light up the "black box" of non-cognitive ability family education input-output mechanism;propose systematic and reference education investment strategies for families with different backgrounds,improve family education quality,help families make educational decisions;and also provide guidance for national family education The formulation of policies provides reference for empirical evidence and policy recommendations.First of all,this study reveals the relatively unfavorable family education situation of rural children,children with low family socioeconomic status,and left-behind children through the analysis of the education investment of urban and rural areas,families with different social economic backgrounds and mobile status.Then,through hierarchical regression analysis,it was found that academic education,cultural education,home school and social interaction and other family education time investment and selective education economic investment will have a positive impact on the development of children's non-cognitive ability to a certain extent,time investment effect relatively more stable.Through further coefficient clustering analysis,we can see that the effect of family education time investment on the development of children's non-cognitive ability is twice that of family education economic investment.For rural children and left-behind children who are at a disadvantage of investment,time investment has a greater effect on the development of non-cognitive abilities.Finally,on the basis of family social capital theory and family interaction theory,this study uses stratified regression method and non-parametric percentile Bootstrap method to find that family education time not only has a direct positive effect on children's non-cognitive ability development,It also affects the development of children's non-cognitive abilities through the intermediary role of parent-child relationship.The intermediary effect accounts for about 25%of the total effect.Parent educational capability will regulate the direction and magnitude of the effect of family education investment on the development of children's non-cognitive ability.Specifically,the level of parental education cognition regulates the strength of the relationship between family education time and children's openness of thinking.The higher the parent's cognitive level of education,the greater the positive effect of family education time investment on the openness of children's thinking.Parental behavior guidance will regulate the positive and negative relationship between family education time investment and children's due diligence.When the parent's behavior guidance ability exceeds a certain range,the effect of family education time investment on children's responsible development will be negative.Based on this,this study makes the following five recommendations,increase the investment in family education time,pay attention to the critical period of children's ability development,establish good parent-child relationships,increase government support for vulnerable families;establish and improve a family education guidance service system.
