The report of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that "the urban agglomeration should be the main body to build a coordinated development of large, medium and small cities and small towns." This once again clarified the status of urban agglomerations as the main form of Chinese new urbanization development. And only when the cities in the urban agglomeration can realize the integration of City-industry-people,can the advancement of the urban agglomeration integration process truly gain the unanimous support of cities at all levels in the agglomeration. At the same time, this is also a necessary condition for a high-level mature urban agglomeration to achieve harmonious symbiosis and coordinated development of the cities in the agglomeration.Based on the existing relevant literature and theoretical research, taking the Yangtze River Delta city group as an example, through quantitative analysis of the spatial evolution of its internal population and economic scale distribution,it is found that while the population scale is moving towards agglomeration, the gap of various regions in economic development is gradually narrowing. And both aspects have stabilized in recent years, indicating that the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration has basically formed a stable population and economic scale structure.By measuring the degree of integration of City-industry-people Integration and the degree of coupling and coordination among cities in the urban agglomeration, this paper finds that there are clusters in cities with a high level of City-industry-people integration within the urban agglomeration. The three subsystems have basically reached the state of coupling and coordination. Finally,by constructing an econometric model, the effects of population size, economic size, and human development level on the degree of coupling, coordination, and coordination between industry and city are explained.Based on the main part of the research, this article's suggestions for the further development of the City-industry-people integration in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration are as follows:1.Reasonable division of labor in industrial cooperation and misaligned development of large, medium and small cities;2.Connecting and interconnecting in urban infrastructure construction and building a comprehensive transportation hub;3.In promoting human development,we should pay attention to people's best efforts to realize the free movement of labor. In addition,it is necessary to cooperate in pollution control and take the road of sustainable development;institutional innovation to properly handle the relationship between the government and the market;two-way opening and active integration into the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the"Belt and Road" development strategy.
