As a basis,it clearly requires that every student in junior high school should be able to master common polyphonic characters and read accurately in The Chinese curriculum standards for compulsory education(2011 edition).In order to grasp the veracious teaching status of polyphonic characters in these junior high schools located in Kaifeng city and Qabqar Xibo autonomous county,students and teachers took questionnaires and tests including listening and reading.Meanwhile,some of the teachers were interviewed.The statistical results showed that the following problems occur in the teaching of polyphonic characters.The formation and classification of polyphonic characters are complicated,which are seriously affected by public misinterpretation.The model of text-dependent Chinese character teaching is not good for teachers and students to delimit the scope of common polyphonic characters.It needs to strengthen for many teachers' polyphonic mastery.Meanwhile,the methods of teaching are single and lack specific guidance for students.On the other hand,the cognitive styles and personal learning habits of focusing on writing instead of reading need to be changed for most of students.According to collect teaching cases and practical observation,several comments were put forward for the above issues.First,teachers should improve their ability to master polyphonic characters.They need to sort out polyphonic characters according to curriculum standards,textbooks and authoritative publications.They should determine the precise teaching points according to different types of polyphonic characters and carry out targeted and colorful teaching according to the specific learning situation of students.Second,students should actively develop the habit of reading polyphonic characters.They can improve the frequency of polyphonic characters by reading widely.Or their pronunciation habits are strictly controlled.Thirdly,students are the main body and teachers are the guiders.The two sides actively cooperate to sort out the phenomenon of polyphonic characters in and out of class and carry out various phonetic exploration activities.They can try to use the rich extracurricular resources to develop a variety of polyphonic characters library for learning.In the process of improving the current situation of polyphonic characters' teaching,in addition to the joint efforts of teachers and students,it also needs the greatest help from all walks of life.The curriculum standard and teaching material can provide common polyphone table.Teaching and research offices at all levels and schools can carry out language training in a timely manner.Publications can enhance the pinyin labeling of low frequency polyphonic characters.Junior high school students have made progress in their polyphonic learning under such an environment,where teachers and students work together,and the public are rooting for it.
