As a difficult and beautiful project,rumba dance can enhance students' physical quality,improve students' body posture and improve students' aesthetic ability.This study tries to make a breakthrough through the most basic rumba in Latin dance.Choose Dongfanghong Primary School,which is the only rumba dance in Yueyang City.The teaching content of rumba dance is reconstructed in order to promote the construction and development of physical education and health curriculum in Dongfanghong Primary School in Yueyang Building District.The research adopts the methods of literature review,on-the-spot investigation,expert interview,questionnaire and so on.This paper makes a profound discussion on the design and application of rumba teaching content in the middle grade of Dongfanghong Primary School.The research shows that the necessity of rumba teaching is shown in promoting the needs of physical education reform,meeting the needs of students' physical exercise,promoting students' physical and mental development,promoting the needs of dance teaching,and so on.The feasibility of rumba teaching is mainly reflected in the support of leaders,strong needs of students,good venues and facilities,excellent teachers and so on.This study puts forward the design basis of compulsory education physical education and health curriculum standards and the characteristics of physical and mental development of primary and middle school students,and defines the arrangement elements such as action,music,rhythm,space,time and so on.Through the investigation of experts,the rationality of12 basic dance steps such as "Side dance step","New York step" and "Fixed point turn" was determined.Five reasonable middle-grade rumba teaching contents such as "In-situ rhythm step","In-situ horizontal step" and "Square step" were determined,and a complete set of rumba movements was created.After preliminary experiments and assessment,it is concluded that the teaching effect meets the expected requirements.Both students and teachers think that the teaching content of this study is not difficult,meets the needs of students and their physical and mental development,and has certain feasibility and effectiveness.It can be used as the choice of school-based curriculum or the second classroom in primary and secondary schools.
