The subject of geography is spatial, regional and comprehensive."Compulsory Education Geography Curriculum Standards" emphasizes to guide students to understand the spatial differences and spatial connections of geographical things.Spatial cognitive ability has become a key ability necessary for students in compulsory education to learn the subject of geography. At the same time, geographical spatial cognitive ability is also an important component of core geographic literacy.Cultivating and developing this ability can help students understand and appreciate the world we live in from the perspective of geography, effectively improve students' understanding and adaptability to the geographical environment, and implement the concept of geography curriculum that is useful for lifelong development.Maps are powerful tools for cultivating students' spatial cognitive ability. How to better train students' geographical spatial cognitive ability based on maps is a problem that modern geography teachers need to explore. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study how to better use maps to train students' geospatial cognitive ability. The thesis mainly adopts research methods such as literature research method, classroom observation method and questionnaire survey method.First, the research background, significance, research ideas and methods of the thesis are proposed, and the entry point of the thesis research is found by reviewing the relevant research on geospatial cognitive ability;second, based on the analysis of the core concepts and theoretical basis,Combined with the previous research, formulated the dimensions of the observation of high-quality teaching videos and the specific content contained in them;third,by observing the high-quality geography teaching videos,an analysis of how teachers use maps to cultivate students' geospatial cognitive ability,Identified the outstanding problems, and further analyzed the teachers' views on geospatial cognitive abilities and the reasons for the problems through questionnaires, and then proposed an optimization strategy for using maps to cultivate junior high school students' geospatial cognitive abilities;Main research conclusions, point out the innovations, deficiencies and prospects of the research.Through the analysis of high-quality teaching videos, the current status of teachers using maps to cultivate students' spatial cognitive ability is as follows:(1)most teachers use maps to facilitate students' perception;(2)most teachers pay attention to showing maps of different scales, but less training Students analyze the geographic space from the spatiotemporal scale;(3)Teachers rarely use a combination of multiple geographic element maps to help students comprehensive analysis;(4)Teachers use maps to develop students' unbalanced geographic spatial cognitive ability;(5)Most teachers Ignore and guide students to read pictures according to the purpose of spatial cognition;(6)Teachers ignore the auxiliary atlas to cultivate students' spatial cognition.By analyzing the status quo,the author summarizes some of the problems that teachers have in cultivating students' spatial cognition and investigates the reasons. The main points are as follows:(1)The teachers' recognition of the use of maps to cultivate students' geospatial cognitive ability is high, but the space The connotation and specific structure of cognitive abilities are not well understood,so they cannot be targeted for training;(2)Teachers believe that the development of various geospatial cognitive abilities of students is unbalanced;(3)Students have poor image reading abilities and spatial cognitive abilities The cultivation of is easily overlooked, which restricts the development of students' geospatial cognitive ability.Based on the observation of high-quality teaching videos and the analysis of the results of the questionnaire survey,an optimization strategy for using maps to cultivate the junior high school students' geospatial cognitive ability is proposed:(1)help students establish a perspective of the spatial area and pay attention to the use of multi-scale maps;(2)Cultivate students to form a preliminary view of space-time scale analysis;(3)Pay attention to the comparative transfer of geographic knowledge and cultivate students' view of spatial connection and spatial difference;(4)Strengthen the purpose and steps of cognizing map reading;(5)Use map overlay or combination to train students Comprehensive spatial analysis capabilities. The main research conclusions of the thesis:(1)The current status of teachers using maps to cultivate students' spatial cognitive ability is generally good, but there are still some outstanding problems. For example, teachers train students' geographical and spatial cognitive ability to be unbalanced, neglect to guide students to read maps according to spatial cognitive purposes, and rarely use multi-element map combination and comprehensive analysis.Teachers have a general understanding of geospatial cognitive ability, and cannot find suitable teaching strategies, etc.are the main reasons for these problems;(2)put forward the optimization strategy of using maps to cultivate students' spatial cognitive ability. The innovation of the thesis lies in the innovation of research angle.Combining map teaching with students' geospatial cognitive ability, through classroom observation and questionnaire survey, the current status of teachers' use of maps to cultivate students' geospatial cognitive ability is obtained, and then the use of maps to train junior high school students' geospatial cognitive ability Optimization Strategy.
