In the context of the new curriculum reform,as an integral part of textbooks,the image system plays an irreplaceable role in grasping students' macroscopic geography and cultivating regional cognition.Attention to image teaching is not only a requirement of the new curriculum reform,but also a general trend in the development of international geography education.Research on the application of image systems in geography teaching in high school can highlight the unique educational value of geography,better use of teaching materials and images to cultivate students' regional thinking,enable students to have the ability to think from a regional perspective,and implement the core of geography Literacy.At the same time,analyzing the implementation of teachers 'image teaching and students' application of images will help teachers find problems in classroom teaching and find a teaching method suitable for them.As far as students are concerned,they can discover the problems existing in the study of regional geography,and help them develop good and correct geographic skills,so that students can learn to read and use pictures in the learning process,and find a learning method that suits them.In this context,this article first reviews the current status of domestic and foreign research on geographic image systems,geographic image teaching,and regional cognitive ability training,which mainly includes the research on geographic textbook image systems and regional cognitive capabilities.The geographic textbook image system includes research on the features,functions,and applications of geographic textbook images,and regional cognitive abilities include research on training methods and division of levels.On the premise of collating the literature,this article defines the relevant definitions of geographic image systems and regional cognition,and determines the theoretical basis of map teaching methods,constructivist learning theory,and modern cartography theory;on this basis,The types are divided and their functions are analyzed.Secondly,the current situation of high school geographic image teaching based on the development of regional cognitive ability and the questionnaire of the use of geographic image to cultivate students' regional cognitive ability are analyzed.Strategy.The main research conclusions of this article are as follows:(1)Classify and summarize geographic image types,and analyze their functions.Geographic images are divided into six categories: landscape maps,schematic diagrams,geographic charts and others.This paper believes that geographic images mainly have four functions: revealing the comprehensive relationship between geographical elements,simplifying the principles and rules of geographical things,reflecting the trend of things,and highlighting the main geographical elements.It also examines students' regional cognitive abilities from different levels in the college entrance examination questions.(2)Through questionnaire interviews with teachers and students in several high schools,the status quo of regional cognitive ability of high school students and the status quo of teachers' use of images to cultivate regional cognitive ability are analyzed,and summarized into two aspects: teachers and students.From the perspective of teachers,teachers lack the practice and innovation when using maps in regional teaching.Teachers lack the guidance and summary of students' regional thinking.From the perspective of students,students need to strengthen the ability to read pictures.The ability to apply regional research methods and approaches is weak.(3)Aiming at the problems arising from investigating the status quo of regional geographic image teaching,combined with the characteristics of high school geography teaching and students' physical and mental development,this paper proposes an optimization strategy for high school geographic image teaching based on the development of regional cognitive ability.The first is the student's learning strategy: improve geographic image awareness and reading ability;enhance students' ability to compare regional differences,analyze problems systematically;and improve their ability to apply regional research methods and approaches.Followed by the teacher's teaching strategy: set the main line of the image to run through the regional geography learning;make full use of modern teaching methods to cultivate the teacher's board drawing skills;use the problem of image setting,heuristic induction and the use of multi-image comparison to cultivate the ability of regional comparison.Finally,according to the above content,a teaching plan was designed to effectively improve students' ability to use pictures.
