The standard of occupation ability of College Counselors(Provisional)(2014)includes "academic guidance ability" as one of the nine categories of college counselors'professional ability,which not only reflects that academic guidance itself is the focus of daily work of college counselors,it also shows that academic guidance is the core manifestation of the counselor's own professional quality.At present,a lot of researches have been done on the historical development context,group characteristics,and professionalization of college counselors,and they have made useful explorations on the formation and development of counselors 'professional competence,forming a basic research framework for college counselors' professional competence.But at the same time,the research on the structural dimension of the counselor's professional ability is relatively inadequate.Among them,the academic guidance ability of college counselors is very scarce.The existing literature pays more attention to the improvement of academic guidance through the content and form innovation of academic guidance.The effect of this is relatively lacking in the study of the structural dimensions and improvement mechanisms of academic guidance.Study the structural dimensions and improvement mechanism of academic counseling ability of college counselors,find out the current exposed deficiencies in the process of improving academic guidance ability,explore the root cause of the problems,and propose some countermeasures,which can not only make the individual counselors know their academics Guiding the direction of capacity development will also help the construction of the professional career path of counselors,which is conducive to the enrichment and development of student affairs management theory,and provides some useful references for the smooth development of higher education.Based on the literature analysis results of college counselors and academic guidance ability,this study defines the academic guidance ability of college counselors as four aspects:learning motivation guidance,learning method guidance,learning planning guidance,learning process and learning evaluation guidance.Starting from the theory of competency and the professional theory of counselors,according to the six development mechanisms of qualifications,career planning,process communication,training development,institutional incentives,and performance evaluation included in the academic counseling ability of college counselors,college counselor academic guidance Capacity development mechanism model.Relying on the sample survey results of some universities in H province,SPSS24 software was used to test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire.Through factor analysis,one-way analysis of variance,and T test,it was found that the college counselor group recognized their own academic guidance ability.Counselors,lack of sufficient recognition of the current conditions and approaches to cultivating academic guidance,are concentrated in the recognition of the implementation of relevant system construction,and generally are dissatisfied with the division of responsibilities,and the system of incentives,performance evaluation,training development and career planning.It is helpful to improve the academic guidance ability of counselors.At present,the academic guidance ability of college counselors shows problems such as weak professional knowledge,unbalanced ability structure,bias in role recognition,and inadequate vocational training system.The reason is that the current academic guidance ability and its promotion process lack clear qualification entry thresholds.Inaccurate assessment and evaluation,unclear career planning and imperfect industry norms.According to the development status of academic guidance ability,three solutions are proposed:shaping the scientific concept of counselor's academic guidance ability improvement;constructing a long-term mechanism for counselor's academic guidance ability improvement;optimizing the supporting measures for counselor academic guidance ability improvement.
