In 2014,the State Council issued "Implementation Opinions on Deepening the Reform of the Examination and Enrollment System",a new round of college entrance examination reform has started officially.As the third batch of pilot reform units,Hubei Province will take on heavy responsibility of the new round of college entrance examination reform.Unlike the "3 out of 7" plan in Zhejiang Province and the "6 out of 3" plan in Shanghai,Hubei Province has adopted a more gradual reform,which named the "3+1+2" plan.This plan reduced the combination of subjects to 12 types,which enabled the new college entrance examination reform to be implemented more effectively at the operational level.For a better understanding of the actual situation of the reform in Hubei Province,the article takes subject selection as the starting point,and uses four high schools in Wuhan as the research object.It uses a mixed research method by comprehensively use both quantitative and qualitative research methods to investigate students' subject selection and the actual situation of collocation,analyze the practice effect,the actual dilemma and the reform path of new college entrance examination.In the quantitative research,654 student questionnaires were collected and analyzed using SPSS 22.0 data processing software.In the qualitative research,interviews were used in the article which mainly includes students,teachers,and education experts,totaling 17 people.This article study the internal mechanism and practical dilemma of student subject selection by interest subject,subject selection process and actual selection,carry out a dilemma analysis based on these three levels,which propose realistic basis and theoretical countermeasures for the smooth progress of the new college entrance examination reform in Hubei Province in order to achieve breakthroughs in dilemmas.Subject selection is,on the one hand,the scientific appeal of the theory of human overall development,the theory of multiple intelligences,and Engels' infiniteness theory;on the other hand,it is the realistic demand of historical changes and reform trends.The reform of Hubei Province's new college entrance examination uses the "3+1+2" plan.In essence,this is a system for students to choose test subjects,which gives students the right of choice and autonomy to protect their subjective status.From a theoretical perspective,this plan is in line with the overall layout of national education reform and long-term planning,and has played a positive role in personnel training for universities and our country.However,the implementation of the "3+1+2" plan has not been smooth.The article analyzes the status of students' subject selection with the help of two research paths,and explores the characteristics of student' subject selection.Overall,twelve subject combinations are selected and matched by students,the traditional combination is more popular with students,boys prefer the choice of science,and girls prefer the choice of liberal arts.Students performed better in science and autonomy in the selection process,and were more satisfied with the new plan.However,in the process of actual selection,students appeared to be inconsistent with the actual selection,and hoped to change.There is insufficient support for student selection,and some students still question the fairness of the new plan.It summarizes the students' subject selection dilemma into four aspects:selection implementation,class walking teaching,choose support and fairness.It also puts forward effective countermeasures and suggestions from the national policy level,college level,high school level and student level.At the national policy level,it is necessary to improve the educational investment mechanism,optimize the teacher training and management system,and design a new scoring model to ensure the scientific and fairness of the test selection system.At the college level,examinations and admissions should be further coupled,the correlation between the selection of subjects and the professional application should be strengthened,getting rid of the dilemma of the reform of "changing soup without changing medicine".And strengthen the cooperation with all parties,working together to promote the comprehensive reform of the college entrance examination;at the high school level,schools must shoulder the heavy responsibility of student career education and school guidance,cooperate with colleges to build prerequisite courses,and promote the connection between middle and high schools.;At the student level,students should strengthen self-knowledge,expand cognitive perspectives,and improve self-control.And understand the new college entrance examination policy in depth,taking a Proactive attitude to the new college entrance examination reform.
