As one of the pilot provinces for the second batch of new college entrance examination reforms in China,the General Office of the Shandong Provincial People's Government issued the“Symmetric Comprehensive Pilot Program for the Examination of Enrollment in Higher Education in Shandong Province”(Lu Zheng Banfa [2018]11 number),on March 23,2018.The Comprehensive Pilot Program for the Examination and Enrollment of Higher Education Institutions in Shandong Province stipulated that since 2020,the total scores of college admissions for candidates are from three unified college entrance examination subjects(Chinese,Mathematics,Foreign language)and three self-selected academic level test subjects.“Students can choose three among the six subjects of Political,History,Geography,Physics,Chemistry and Biology according to their own interests,ambitions,advantages and enrollment requirements of higher education institutions.This marks a new round of college entrance examination enrollment system in Shandong Province.This paper takes five high schools in Shandong Province as examples to explore the occupational interest and subject selection of high school students through questionaire in the background of the new college entrance examination.Through interviews,we can understand the specific measures of occupational interest education and measures for students to select subjects.The questionnaire consists of two parts.The first part is the investigation of students' professional interest.The second part is the investigation of students' choice of subjects,the combination of selected subjects,the factors influencing students' choice of subjects,the ways to understand the problems related to the new college entrance examination,and the specific measures of vocational interest education and guidance of students' choice of subjects.Many problems have been found in this research.The school mainly includes the lack of necessary countermeasures for the school,the difficulty of teacher allocation.The students include lack of occupational awareness,heavy burden of subjects selected.Aspects include increased teacher teaching tasks and increased professional pressure.Based on the above problems,suggestions are put forward from the following aspects.Parents' problems include the lack of understanding and attention attention to the new college entrance examination.Firstly,the countermeasures and suggestions of vocational interest include popularizing vocational interest test,establishing online files of vocational interest of senior high school students,and strengthening the connection between the results of vocational interest assessment and students' actual needs.Secondly,the countermeasures and suggestions on the subject selection of senior high school students include that schools should use various ways to guide students to select subjects,improving teachers' professional quality,changing students' ideas,coordinating the role of parents' counseling and university guidance.
