Setting up selective subjects and increasing students’ option of examination are key parts of the new reform of College Entrance Examination launched in 2014.The scientific and reasonable results of subject selection not only enable high school students to study in ideal universities and majors, but also meet the expectation of professional knowledge with which colleges aim to cultivate talents, and fit the knowledge structure positioning of national talent selection. The implementation of subject selection in the first and second batch of the new College Entrance Examination in pilot provinces and cities has become an important subject concerned by the academic circles.However,“3+1+2” mode,as a brand new subject selection mode, adopted by the third batch of the new College Entrance Examination in pilot provinces and cities, started in 2018,and the first new College Entrance Examination has been implemented in 2021.The current situation and existing problems of high school students under this mode are still not completely clear. Therefore,to effectively implement the reform policy of the College Entrance Examination,it is of great significance to study the current situation, problems and countermeasures of high school students’ subject selection under the "3+1+2" mode.Under the guidance of the theory of human overall development, the theory of personalized learning, and the theory of career planning, this study takes the subject selection of new College Entrance Examination as the starting point, puts forward the research method of this paper by sorting out the research status at home and abroad.Based on the shortcomings of the existing research,it summarizes the research significance of this paper from the theoretical and practical aspects.Starting from the developing and changing course of subject setting in the College Entrance Examination and taking the reform policy outline of College Entrance Examination formulated and issued by the government as the carrier, this paper analyzes the requirements of college enrollment for selective examination under the “3+1+2” mode by taking physics and history as examples.Meanwhile, four schools of Guangdong Province are selected as the research samples. With questionnaires and interviews, this paper studies the present situation high school students face when selecting subjects under the “3+1+2” mode, attempting to explores the autonomy of high school students and the influencing factors, and their emotional attitude towards the new reform of College Entrance Examination. It also discusses the problems existing in the subject selection of high school students and analyzes their causes, aiming to provide reference for new College Entrance Examination reform. With the existing research results, this paper makes an empirical study on high school students’ subject selection in four schools in Guangdong Province. The results show that the preset goal of breaking the traditional boundaries of arts and sciences, selecting subjects according to one’s own interests and specialties is basically realized in the new College Entrance Examination "3+1+2" mode, but there exists a series of unsolved problems such as certain blindness in high school students’ subject selection, prominent structural problems of teachers, insufficient allocation of teaching resources, asymmetric information of subject selection and university enrollment. Thus, coordination and cooperation based on existing problems are bound to be strengthened. For example, educational administrative departments should pay attention to the professional research of subject selection scheme.Colleges should select professional talents scientifically while high schools ought to formulate specific and effective management measures for subject selection.Students are supposed to improve their ability of independent selection.Meanwhile, teachers and parents should cooperate closely and provide necessary guidance on subject selection.Only in this way can we ensure that the concept of “promoting human overall and personalized development” can be effectively promoted and implemented in the reform of College Entrance Examination subject setting. |
