The system of the National College Entrance Examination is of great significance to the reform and development of the educational undertaking and,strategically,the economic and social development in China.In September 2014,the State Council promulgated the Opinions on Deepening the Reform on National College Entrance Examination and Enrollment System,which means the start of the further reform on the system of National College Entrance Examination.Taking a subject election system,the reform on the system of National College Entrance Examination is implemented in batches nationwide.As one of the third batch of pilot cities,the administration of Hebei Province began to abolish the division of liberal arts and science in 2018,executing the “3+1+2” subject selection model.In addition to Chinese,Math and Foreign Language as compulsory subjects,students should select one subject from Physics and History and two subjects from Geography,Chemistry,Biology and Ideology and Politics.Such a subject selection model not only makes up for the limitation of the division of liberal arts and science,but also shows respect to the individual choice of students,more conducive to the realization of their sound development.In a bid to study the situation on the subject selection of students in the context of the new system,By using case study method,questionnaire method and interview method,taking the Middle School A as a sample,this paper deeply explores the allocation of teaching resources and the execution of the subject selection system of the school,as well as the perceptions of the students and teachers in ordinary high school on the system,the willingness and influence factors related to the subject selection,and current problems with the selection work,and correspondingly sets forth countermeasures.This thesis is mainly divided into four parts:The first part is the introduction.It mainly includes: research purpose and significance,theoretical basis,the definition of core concepts,research ideas and methods,etc.The second part is the survey process,which is further divided into five sections: survey preparation,survey results,analysis of questionnaire results,influencing factors of subject selection,and interview results.Among them,subject selection influencing factors include five dimensions,namely,policy influence,school factors,personal factors,parent factors,and college factors.The interview results analyze the understanding as well as the personal feelings of subject selection from the perspectives of teachers and students.The third part is an analysis of the reasons for the current situation of subject selection in School A.To be more specific,it analyzes the seven factors leading to the current subject selection situation in School A:unclear self-understanding of students,lack of career guidance,understanding of admission and subject selection information,improper school management,game tendency in the selection of subjects,directionless parental opinions,and insecure teaching resources.The fourth part is an analysis of the countermeasures for the subject selection in School A.It analyzes how to optimize implementation of the subject selection system and improve the allocation of teaching resources,thereby promoting the smooth implementation of the new college entrance examination system for ordinary high schools from four perspectives: the top-level design from the government level,the optimization of resource allocation from the school level,the strengthening of information disclosure from the university level and the making of clear career plans from the students and parents level.
