Culture is the soul of a country and a nation,Xi said in a report delivered at the 19th national congress of the communist party of China(CPC)on Oct 18,2017.Both history and reality have shown that a nation's abandonment or betrayal of its own history and culture is not only impossible to develop,but also likely to lead to historical tragedy.Of course,sports people can not lose their soul-sports history and culture.As an important part of Chinese culture,sports history should become a more basic,broader and deeper source of self-confidence for sports people.However,with the deepening and reform of higher education,great changes and reforms have taken place in college physical education curriculum.As one of the basic disciplines of physical education,physical history is gradually marginalized in the current general university physical education majors,and some schools even cancel the setting of physical history courses in their training plans due to the deficiencies in teaching objectives,teaching contents and implementation of the courses.In terms of economic development and educational reform,there is a certain gap between Hunan province and coastal areas.In order to promote the development of sports major in Hunan province,it is necessary to investigate the status of sports history course in sports major in Hunan province.This paper adopts the methods of literature review,questionnaire survey,expert interview,mathematical statistics and so on to investigate the current situation,training objectives,teaching contents,teaching materials use and teachers' situation of sports history courses in 15 universities in Hunan province.The problems are found in the investigation,which can be used for reference for the development of the sports history course in Hunan province.The study draws the following conclusions:1.The goal of sports history courses for sports majors in Hunan Province is single.Some colleges and universities are restricted by various reasons and cannot normally open sports history courses.The opening rate of sports history courses is not high.It is recommended that the government and schools appropriately invest funds to enrich the teaching platform,create more multimedia resources,mobilize the enthusiasm of teachers and students to learn,increase the opening rate,and realize the value of sports history courses.2.There are few hours and more content,and the content of sports history course is very rich.Teachers need to grasp the difficulties and difficulties of teaching according to the teaching objectives,so as to achieve the ideal teaching effect.It is recommended to improve the content and method of teaching evaluation;arrange the class hours reasonably.3.The age structure of physical education teachers in ordinary colleges and universities in Hunan Province is relatively reasonable,but some school teachers can not meet the teaching needs,and teachers have not participated in job training.In addition,the scientific research level of young teachers needs to be improved.It is recommended that the construction of the teaching staff in the sports history courses of colleges and universities in Hunan Province should be improved.4.Teachers 'initiative after class is not enough.Teachers should understand students' feelings after class and adjust the amount and intensity of learning in time.In the process of interacting with students after class,teachers can use the Internet and other methods to facilitate students to understand the boring historical knowledge points,so as to arouse students' enthusiasm for learning,appropriately encourage and guide students to think,and give positive feedback.It is recommended that teachers pay attention to the cultivation of students' interest in learning;pay attention to communication and interaction between teachers and students,and adjust teaching strategies in a timely manner.
