A Research On The Developmental History Of Physical Education Of Sports Major In Hunan Colleges And Universities

Through reciting relevant documents, interviewing experts, surveying, statistical comparison, the paper attempt to put in order the developmental history of physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities and sum up the gain and loss so that it can provide useful data for the development and consummation of physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities, even all over China.After the research, the developmental history of physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities from 1904 to today is divided into 4 stages, 7 periods.The first stage: physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities before liberation (1904-1949), i.e., the budding or initialization period. The establishment of Hunan Gymnastics Research Institute in 1904 indicates the germination of physical education of sports major in Hunan higher education organizations, but it is not physical education of sports major in real sense. Physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities was ignited with the foundation of Physical Education Department, National Normal University in 1939.The second period: physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities 17 years after liberation (1949-1966), which can be divided into interregnum period or zigzag period. During the exploration period (1982-1992), the chang in eductional system of physical education of sports major and the practice of reformation in system of major and minor were tried and tested. The education of postgraduates majoring in RE. was founded. During the acceleration and further development period (1992-), great changes have taken place in aspects such as the arrangements of physical education of sports major, the pedagogincal research and the construction of teacher team. The educational system has been rapidly extended to follow the development of physical education of sports major of the whole country.At the same time, it is believed that physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities has experienced gradual process, that is , from nought to ens, from the change in quantity to the change in quality. Its history of development is the miniature of the reformation and development in physical education of sports major in our country, reflecting as a whole the general condition and reality of the history of physical education of sports major in our country. Before the middle period of the 1990s, physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities mainly valuedphysical education of sports major in normal colleges, aimed at, above all, developing RE. teachers;but since the late 1990s, especially since the 21th century, physical education of sports major in Hunan colleges and universities has developed step by step to specialize in physical education of sports major in comprehensive universities, connecting normal education major and non-normal education major.
