Geography is a basic subject in senior high school. The curriculum standards promote student self-discipline,collaboration,and inquiry learning, emphasizing the ability of students to learn the geography useful for life and the geography useful for lifelong development. And emphasizes students' learning of geography that is useful for life and lifelong development. However, due to various reasons, the students in Fuquan middle school are not active in geography learning, and their interest in learning is generally not strong. From the perspective of students' cognitive drive, this paper investigates and analyzes students' interest in geography learning.Through reading and studying a large number of literature materials, quantifying and analyzing the cognitive drive of high school students' geography learning,it is concluded that high school students have lower cognitive drive level in geography learning.A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate students' learning interest based on cognitive drive, and to understand and analyze students' geographical learning situation from three aspects, namely, their geographic learning motivation, learning interest, and learning Content. This paper finds out the factors that lead to the lack of interest in geography learning in high school students based on cognitive drive. From the perspective of students' own factors, the main influencing factors are weak awareness of geography learning, misunderstanding of the subject of geography, believing that geography knowledge is boring and useless to life.In addition, the unfavorable relationship between teachers and students, the inflexible teaching methods of the teachers, the vivid images and the single format of the teaching materials are also factors that lead to the lack of interest in geography learning.According to the influencing factors,a strategy of cultivating high school students' geographic interest based on cognitive drive is proposed.(1)strategies to stimulate cognitive drive and improve students' interest in geography learning from the perspective of students:? a good first geography lesson, let students fall in love with geography;? Theory and practice, let students like to learn geography;? Reflect the main status of students, let student stake the initiative to learn geography.(2)Through the teacher to stimulate students' drive, improve students'interest in geography learning strategies:? Teachers use humorous language;?Establish a good teacher-student relationship.(3)Strategies to use appropriate teaching methods to stimulate cognitive drive and increase interest in geography learning:?Design novel classroom introduction;?Create teaching situations;?combine rural geography teaching;? Use rich and diverse teaching materials. Then, the proposed strategy was carried out in two parallel classes for nearly a month, and the interest of geography learning in class 11 was greatly aroused.Compared with the experimental class 11 and the control class 12,the results of geography study have been greatly improved. The students' initiative, enthusiasm and enthusiasm in geography study are obviously higher, with correct learning attitude and strong learning atmosphere. It can be seen that the proposed strategy of cultivating high school students'interest in geography learning based on cognitive drive is effective.
