For a long time,"anxiety" and its mechanism and application have been the focus in basic psychology,psychiatry and other interdisciplinary subjects.To some extent,anxiety is one of the main factors affecting the mental health of middle school students.The anxiety induced by learning is an important content of middle school students' anxiety,and it has also become the focus of educational psychology.Educational psychological research shows that self-esteem is an important factor affecting students' anxiety.Due to students' vague cognition of their potential,and their uncertainty about future study and examination results,it is easy to induce learning anxiety.The mode of short-term psychological counseling has reduced the learner anxiety,which has attracted much attention.The mode of focusing on short-term psychological consultation is to focus on the discovery and development of the client's own resources,to discover small changes of the client,to help the client find clues and positive resources for solving problems,and to improve the client's sense of self-efficacy and self-worth,Which in turn improves self-esteem.Low self-esteem is an important cause of anxiety in middle school students.Therefore,this study intends to combine the focus-solving short-term psychological counseling model with group counseling to help students improve their self-efficacy and self-esteem,expect to reduce the emotional accumulation of learning anxiety,and enhance their motivation for learning and healthy growth.This research design includes two parts.Study 1:In order to determine the relationship between students' self-esteem and learning anxiety,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 320 high school students in Wuhan by using Self-esteem Scale and Mental Health Test--Learning Anxiety Scale.Study 2:First,the experimental members were determined through data screening in Study 1 and group recruitment,all of them were pretested.Then,they were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,each group was 12 people,the focus-oriented group counseling intervention scheme with the focus on improving self-esteem was applied to the experimental group,the control group maintained normal learning and entertainment activities.After the group counseling is completed,post-tests are performed,and the effect of counseling is tested by comparing the statistical analysis results of the data measured before and after.This study draws the following conclusions:(1)There is no significant gender difference in self-esteem level of senior high school students,and there is a significant gender difference in learning anxiety;(2)There is a negative correlation between self-esteem level and learning anxiety;(3)Focus-oriented group counseling can improve the self-esteem level of high school students,with immediate counseling effect;(4)The improvement of self-esteem level can effectively alleviate the learning anxiety of high school students.
