An Intervention Study Of Solution-Focused Oriented Academic Self-Efficiency Group Counseling For Higher Vocational College Students' Learning Burnout

Objective: For the purpose of providing feasible basis for group counseling intervention, this study took freshman and sophomore students from a vocational and technical college as research object, to get to kown the overall degree of higher vocational students' learning burnout. Through further study of investigating the effectiveness of intervention about solution-focused group counseling for higher vocational students' learning burnout, it can provide positive and effective method to improve students' burnout for vocational college educator.Method One: Questionnaire survey method. Distributing "student burnout questionnaire" and "academic self-efficacy questionnaire" to five hundred students randomly. The effective data would be analyzed by SPSS17.0.Method Two: Experimental method. this study adopted “student burnout questionnaire” to selecte 28 qualified and volunteered higher vocational students to join the group, 14 people were randomly selected in the experimental group, and the other 14 were in the control group. The experimental group received solution-focused group counseling interventions for eight times, the control group did nothing. After the group counseling, carried out statistical analysis of the experimental group and the control group before and after the intervention, besides, four weeks after tracking test data were also took in to statistical analysis.Results:(1)The research got 456 valid questionnaires, and the percentage of Students' learning burnout was 41.2%.(2) For gender variate, learning burnout score of male was significantly higher than female(P<0.05).(3) For only child variate, learning burnout score of only child was significantly higher than non only child(P<0.05).(4) For origin of student variate, learning burnout score of urban student was significantly higher than rural student(P > 0.05).(5)For grade of student variate, learning burnout score of freshman was significantly higher than sophomore(P > 0.05).(6) Not only students' learning burnout had a significant negative correlation with two dimensions of students' academic self-efficacy, but also students' academic self-efficacy can effectively predict students' learning burnout level(adjusted R2=0.304).(7) In the case of not receiving group counseling, there were no significant differences(P>0.05)in the test results both in terms of the total score and all dimensions soce for the control group.(8) The data of solution-focused group counseling and four weeks' tracking had showed, the total score and all dimensions score of the experimental group was significantly higherer than that before group counseling(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1) The overall students' learning burnout level of Yingtan vocational and technical college was on the high side.(2) The higher vocational students' learning burnout had statistically significant difference in demographic variables, it includes: gender, whether only child, origin of student and grades.(3) Academic self-efficacy had an predictive effect on student burnout.(4) Solution-focused group not only had immediate significant effect but also had continuous intervention effect on improving higher vocational studengts' learning burnout.
