"Chinese Etymology" has become a commonly used teaching method in primary school calligraphy teaching in Harbin.Calligraphy teachers in primary schools in Harbin commonly use it to help students understand the evolution of Chinese characters and stimulate their interest in learning calligraphy.This dissertation aims to take the students from the representative Jihong primary school in Harbin as the main research object,and to carry out the application research of the theory of "Chinese Etymology" in primary school calligraphy teaching based on the "Primary School Calligraphy Practice Guide" published by Beijing Normal University Press.The author summarizes the core view of this dissertation through reviewing the literature,that is the theory of "Chinese Etymology" is consistent with the calligraphy teaching in primary schools.On the basis of applying the method of "Chinese Etymology" in primary schools of Harbin,the theory is further designed,arranged and reformed.Through the implement,students are supposed to understand the formation culture and to appreciate the evolution of Chinese characters.They can create the Chinese characters by using the "Chinese Etymology" and form a preliminary cognition of the formation system of "Chinese Etymology" by combining the advanced learning method of "mind-map" with the theory of "Chinese Etymology".In this dissertation,the author tries to combine the advanced teaching methods with the professional knowledge of calligraphy to implement the core ideas of this dissertation.Through the teaching experiment,this thesis achieved the expected results.First,students' interest in calligraphy learning was significantly stimulated,which provides more opportunities for the further development of calligraphy education in primary schools.Second,the application of "Chinese Etymology" improves the overall abilities of students.Thirdly,the calligraphy culture of "Chinese Etymology" promotes the development of moral education and gene activation of calligraphy education in the traditional culture in primary schools.Based on this paper,a series of calligraphy teaching activities in which the theory of "Chinese Etymology" is applied can promote the development of basic education of calligraphy,and have the advantages of being implemented and popularized.
