The International Baccalaureate(IB)program originated as a new type of program designed by the International Baccalaureate Organization to facilitate the learning of diplomats and students of families that frequently migrate from one country to another.As a result,the IB program draws on the advanced educational concepts of many countries and aims to cultivate students' understanding of multiculturalism and their sense of citizenship and social responsibility.And have a unified,unified exam syllabus,unified evaluation criteria,the exam transcript is the United States,Britain,France,Canada,Australia and other European America and Hong Kong,China and other parts of the country more than the well-known university.By 2019,nearly 150 domestic schools set up IB courses,the international recognition of the IB curriculum degree is higher and higher,it has inspired IB courses study interest.In the past for IB course introduces general situation of the research are mostly based on curriculum,curriculum outlook,few on the study of teaching material.Therefore,this research focus on the ‘application and skills' section of IB chemistry textbook.The new era of education reform is to draw lessons from the advanced education idea,change the present single learning content,appraisal method respectively,through the IB ‘application and skills' in the chemical teaching material content analysis,study the teaching material arrangement,presenting methods,choice of content,the rationality and sophistication,in order to provide some future textbook compilation and revision of our country can help.The sections of ‘application and skills' in the IB chemistry textbook are divided into four sub-sections: ‘introduction',‘example',‘method of solving problems',and ‘summary'.Firstly,it introduces the research background and significance,and analyzes the research status of IB courses and teaching materials at home and abroad.Secondly,the relevant concepts are defined,the research needs theory is expounded,and the ‘application and skills' column is introduced to explain the concepts of IB,including IB courses,IBDP courses,IBDP chemistry courses,and ‘Applications and skills'.Based on the analysis and research of the column ‘application and skills',qualitative and quantitative analysis of the four sub-columns were conducted respectively.Finally,the function of the column was evaluated in combination with the 2014 edition IB syllabus and other documents,and a conclusion was drawn.At last,the paper expounds the results and enlightenment of this study,and puts forward the enlightenment to the compilation of the chemistry teaching material of People's education press edition in China.
