The society of science and technology is changing rapidly,but the education is unchanging for a long time.We are using the architecture of the 19 th century,the science and technology of the 20 th century to educate the talents of the 21 st century.This is a digital society,the education system must accept the intrusion of scientific and technological forces,and the reform of school buildings is the first to bear the brunt.In 2003,The Department for Children,Schools and Families issued the largest nationwide school building plan in the UK ever-"building schools for the future program(BSF)".The BSF promises to take the capital investment of school buildings as the catalyst,take school buildings as the foothold of education reform,and finally eliminate the hidden dangers of school buildings,so as to provide students with a school environment suitable for learning in the 21 st century.There is no doubt that the introduction of BSF adapts to the development of society and education.However,due to various reasons,such as the The Department for Children,Schools and Families 's optimistic initial planning assumption of BSF,the impact of the 2008 economic crisis and so on,BSF has moved towards the situation of early termination.The core of this paper is to explore the overall trajectory of BSF from its introduction,implementation to final termination.The key problem to be solved is why the BSF will be terminated in advance? What are the reasons for early termination? How to develop the school building plan after its termination? The research idea of this paper is to have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the BSF at first,and then to further analyze the reasons for the termination of the BSF and the subsequent development of the school building plan in the UK.Finally,to analyze the impact of the BSF on the school building as the end,to try to provide valuable reference for the future work in formulating the school building plan in China.This paper consists of five parts: introduction,text,conclusion,references and appendix.The main part is divided into five chapters.In the introduction part,the reasons for the topic selection,research significance,literature review,concept definition and research methods are explained.The first chapter of the text discusses the promulgation of " Building School for the Future ".First of all,it reviews the historical development of the British school building plan,and further analyzes the background and objectives of the BSF.The background of BSF mainly includes the trend of education policy during the period of promulgation,the prominent safety problems of school buildings and the attention paid to the education function of school buildings.The two goals of BSF are to improve school construction and promote social equality.The second chapter of the thesis analyzes the implementation of " Building School for the Future ".Separately plan the fund management and the division of labor and cooperation of all levels of departments as well as the implementation evaluation of the plan for an overall analysis.Fund management is analyzed from the way of raising and distribution of planned funds;the division of labor and cooperation of departments at all levels is divided into national coordination work,local delivery work and school design work.The third chapter of the text focuses on the termination of the " Building School for the Future ".The main contents of this chapter include how to terminate the plan and the reasons for its termination.Through the study of the work of BSF plan in objectives,funds and departments at all levels,we can see that the reasons for the termination of BSF are the efficiency oriented of the new political party,the internal and external difficulties in funding issues,the over optimistic plan objectives and the mere formality of design work.The fourth chapter analyzes the influence of "Building School for the Future".Looking back and reflecting on the whole process from the implementation to the end of BSF,although BSF was terminated ahead of time,it still had an important impact on the British school buildings,especifically in promoting the development of British secondary school buildings,so that more people pay attention to the educational function of school buildings.
