Middle school is an important stage of personality development,and teachers are the important subject of middle school education.The gender role type of teachers not only affects the understanding and recognition of gender roles,but also influences how teachers treat the gender phenomenon in work.Gender role type refers to the appropriate position of specific gender individuals in a certain society,which is influenced by social expectations and regulated by social culture.Then what are the distribution characteristics of the gender role types of middle school teachers and what are the factors that affect them?Gender stereotypes are the expectations,requirements and general views of most people on the behavior and personality characteristics of men or women.Studies have found that there is significant gender stereotypes teacher to the student,though teachers treat students as equally as possible,encourage students to play to its own characteristics,but the teachers' lack of awareness and regulation of their own gender stereotypes,gender stereotypes inevitably penetrate into every aspect of the education teaching process.Are there gender stereotypes in teachers' evaluation of students' academic performance? Are there gender stereotypes in teachers' assessment of students' gender role traits?The gender role type of teachers will affect teachers' view of the gender phenomenon in work,so will the gender role type of teachers have an impact on the gender stereotype of teachers' evaluation of students' academic performance and gender role trait evaluation?This study studied the above three questions by means of questionnaire survey.Study 1 selected 217 middle school teachers and investigated the characteristics of gender role types of middle school teachers.It was found that the distribution of gender role types of middle school teachers was 47.19% androgynous,34.01% feminine,15.23% undifferentiated and 4.57% masculine.There were significant gender and age differences in the distribution of teachers' gender role types,but no significant differences in teaching subjects.Study 2 selected 220 middle school teachers to investigate the influence of gender role type of middle school teachers on gender stereotypes in students' evaluation of academic ability,and found that teachers had significant gender stereotypes in their evaluation of students' academic ability.The gender role type of teachers has no significant effect on the gender stereotype of students' academic ability evaluation.The type of teacher's gender role plays a significant part in mediating between the teacher's age and the evaluation of students' academic ability.Research 3 selected 220 junior middle school teachers to investigate the impact of gender role type of junior middle school teachers on gender stereotypes in students' gender role trait evaluation.The gender role type of teachers has no significant influence on the evaluation of students' positive gender role characteristics.The gender role type of teachers has a significant impact on the evaluation of negative gender role traits of female students.There was a significant negative correlation between the type of teacher's gender Angle and the evaluation of female students' negative gender role traits.The gender role type of teachers plays a significant part in mediating between teachers' evaluation of students' negative gender role traits.The gender role type of teachers plays a significant part in mediating between the negative gender of female students and the positive gender role traits of male students.In summary,the distribution of gender role types of junior middle school teachers is significantly different;There are gender stereotypes in middle school teachers' evaluation of students' academic ability and gender role traits.The gender role type of junior middle school teachers plays a significant role in mediating between the teacher's age and the evaluation of students' academic ability.The gender role type of junior middle school teachers has a significant influence on the negative gender role trait evaluation of female students.The gender role type of junior middle school teachers plays a significant part in mediating between teachers' evaluation of students' negative gender role traits.The gender role type of teachers also plays a significant part in mediating between teachers' negative evaluation of female students and their positive evaluation of male students.
