Since the reform and opening up,information technology has seen great and rapid development in China.With the advancement of national scientific and technological strength,education has also greeted opportunities and challenges for development.Especially in the new century,governments at all levels have continuously taken measures to construct and improve software and hardware facilities for modern education.As an old revolutionary area attracting great attention from the central government,IT development in education is an urgent task.The level of IT application in high school teaching,whether teachers can make full use of modern educational technology to upgrade the quality of education,and how to improve high school teachers' ability of modern educational technology have become priorities on the way of educational reform for old revolutionary areas.Taking some math teachers and students from three representative high schools in Gushi County as the respondents,the study employs the research methods of questionnaire surveys and interviews,digs into the status quo of the application of modern educational technology by high school math teachers,and finally proposes the strategies of improving high school teachers' ability of applying modern educational technology.The study finds that the status quo of the application of modern educational technology by high school math teachers in Gushi County is not that satisfactory,and figures out the following five problems that are in urgent need to be dealt with.1.Insufficient information facilities;2.Teachers' low application ability;3.Teachers' weak sense of application;4.Insufficient training of modern educational technology;5.Students' insufficient quality of information technology.In order to deal with the above-mentioned problems,the author puts forward a series of strategies for improvement from the aspects of schools,educational management departments,and mathematics,including “schools should hire special teachers,present courses on information technology,reduce teachers' burdens” “educational management departments should increase modern educational technology training” and “math teachers should have more practice on modern educational technology”.
