The Emotional Cohesion Mechanism Of Geographical Villages Under The Background Of Population Mobility

At present,in the process of rural population's continuous outward movement,the atomization of village society becomes more and more obvious.On the other hand,The village is connected with daily life and emotion by collective memory,public space,festival and folk custom.The village society is not disintegrated yet,and the cohesion of the village community has not disappeared due to the erosion of external market,urbanization and other structural forces.At present,most researches focus on the disintegration of village community,but lack enough attention to the cohesion mechanism of village society,this paper attempts to take ta village in the west of henan province as the field survey site,collect data by means of interview and participatory observation,and discuss the internal mechanism of maintaining basic social unity in the village.It is found that there is a cohesion mechanism with emotion as the bond in geographical villages,which is quite different from that of consanguinity clan villages.In the traditional sense,clan-based villages mainly rely on common ancestors,regular sacrificial ceremonies and genealogical activities,common ancestral property such as ancestral halls,memorial archways,genealogy and other symbols,as well as red and white wedding events with clan-based units to cultivate emotions and ensure the maintenance of the community.However,in geographical villages,the collective memory of joint production,the ceremony of filial piety with the village as the unit of action,the public space of the village that can be continued through the network and homecoming activities,as well as the common festival customs can also cultivate thecommon village emotion and form the village identity.Although the village population flows outward and the young and middle-aged elites are absent from the village all the year round,the emotional cohesion mechanism that maintains the geographical village community is still playing a role.This emotional cohesion mechanism makes the village in the face of the urbanization,industrialization and marketization of the impact of the structural forces will still be able to keep a certain toughness,let those in the city of villagers access to noumenon sense of security,increase their tolerance for hardship,but also constitutes the order of village governance in the new period.
