Impact Of Industrial Structure On Migrants' Income And Distribution

Since the reform and opening up,due to factors such as policy and geographical location,the uneven economic development among regions has led to the emergence of floating population.This is mainly reflected in the rapid economic development in the coastal areas of the east,which has increased the number of jobs and demand for labor,and has attracted an influx of rural surplus labor in the central and western regions.With the continuous optimization of the industrial structure,the employment direction of the floating population has also changed,from the secondary industry as the main focus to the tertiary industry as the main body.This makes the migrant population not only transfer between regions,but also between industries,which in turn affects their income level and distribution.In the context of the upgrading of the current industrial structure,this article studies the impact of the industrial structure on the level and distribution of the floating population from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives.First of all,we will sort out the status quo of China's urban industrial structure,the development status of the floating population,and the upgrading of the industrial structure to improve the income level of the floating population.Secondly,it analyzes theoretically the influence mechanism of industrial structure on the floating population income level and distribution.Based on the theoretical analysis,the empirical research was conducted using the 2015 mobile population health and family planning dynamic detection survey data(CMDS2015).In the empirical research section,the overall impact of the industrial structure on the income level of the floating population is first analyzed,and individual characteristic variables(gender,age,education level,etc.)are added.Second,the education level of the floating population is divided into high-skilled groups and low-level groups.Skilled groups,the impact of industrial structure on different skill groups,and the classification of different industries in which the floating population is engaged,and the impact of industrial structure on the income levels of different industries are studied.Finally,the unemployment rate and population density are used as mediating variables.The mediating effect of the industrial structure on the income level and distribution of the floating population.The research results show that: from the perspective of income level,the urban industrial structure has a significant positive impact on the level of income of the floating population.As a control variable,urban per capita GDP,urban industrial output value,urban financial development efficiency,and urban population density also have income levels.Positive impact.Studies based on individual characteristics show that male income is higher than that of females,and the effect of age presents an inverted U-shaped curve.Educational level is positively correlated with income,and married income is higher than unmarried income.From the perspective of income distribution,the industrial structure promotes the income of high-skilled groups more than that of low-skilled groups.At the same time,the impact of industrial structure on the income distribution of floating population is industry heterogeneous,which is reflected in the high degree of impact on high-tech industries and the financial industry.It has a small degree of impact on the secondary industries such as manufacturing and construction,has no significant impact on water conservancy,coal power,and public facilities,and has a significant negative impact on the mining industry.The research on the intermediary effect shows that the industrial structure can effectively increase the income level of the floating population by reducing the unemployment rate and increasing the population density.Finally,based on the actual development of China's industrial structure and the development of the floating population's income level,policy suggestions for accelerating the transformation of the industrial structure and increasing the income of the floating population are put forward.
