In recent years,it has become an indisputable fact that China's rapid economic development is accompanied by increasingly unbalanced regional development and widening regional gap. This unbalanced regional development is closely related to human capital. This paper tries to explore the reasons for the regional differences in east, central and west China from the perspective of human capital. On the basis of sorting out the mechanism of human capital's influence on economic growth, this paper adopts the panel data of 29 provinces and cities from 2008 to 2017 and revises the MRW model to discuss in detail the influence of human capital on economic growth in China. The first part is the introduction, which elaborates the research background and significance of this paper, sorts out the existing research theories, and finally puts forward the innovation points and shortcomings of this paper. The second part is the theoretical basis, which elaborates Romer's knowledge accumulation model,Lucas' human capital model and MRW model in detail. The third part is the analysis of the current situation, from the human capital stock, structure, investment and other dimensions of human capital analysis of the east, central and western regions of China's human capital trends and differences; The fourth part is the empirical analysis, mainly on the basis of the growth model, using the panel data fixed effects model, the empirical analysis of the influence of human capital on economic growth, and analyzes the areas the role of human capital on regional economic development efficiency difference, further empirical results for the associated robustness test. Finally, heterogeneous factors are included in the framework of human capital analysis, three types of human capital based on different education levels are proposed, and the effects of heterogeneous human capital on regional economic growth are discussed.Through the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis of human capital, the author draws the following conclusions :(1)the national sample regression results show that human capital can significantly promote economic growth. In terms of specific region, human capital in eastern, central and western regions has a significant promoting effect on the economic growth of each region, but there are significant regional differences in this promoting effect.Among them, the marginal effect of human capital on economic growth is the largest in eastern region, followed by that in central region, and the smallest in western region.(2)the results of the analysis on the heterogeneity of human capital show that the primary human capital is not conducive to the economic growth, the intermediate human capital has no significant effect, and only the senior human capital can promote the economic growth. The empirical results of the region show that the human capital that promotes the eastern region is the advanced human capital, and the intermediate human capital is the important reason for the economic growth of the central and western regions. Therefore, this paper holds that while increasing educational input in China, the government should ensure the balanced distribution of educational resources in all regions, actively guide the cross-regional flow of talents, and narrow the economic development gap between regions. To develop higher education and improve our country's human capital, which is dominated by middle and low education level.
