STEAM is the abbreviation of the first letter of Science,Technology,Engineering,Art and Mathematics.It is a comprehensive education that integrates science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics.STEAM education is based on mathematics,interprets science and technology from the perspective of engineering and art,integrates different subjects with an interdisciplinary concept,and provides excellent human resource support for the development of modern society.STEAM education emphasizes the practical ability,allowing students to actively participate in teaching activities.In this process,students use existing scientific knowledge principles and certain scientific technologies,such as computer technology,more advanced cutting-edge technical means or mathematical knowledge,to carry out inquiry activities in the form of group cooperation.By completing projects and solving life encountered problems,students can gain learning experience and improve their knowledge and skills.STEAM education supports students to understand the world in the way of subject integration,to change the world in the form of comprehensive innovation,and to cultivate students' innovative ability.This meets the requirements of the new curriculum standard of chemistry in senior high schools,and is in line with the core literacy education concept of "cultivating people with comprehensive development and cultivating contemporary middle school students with innovative literacy".Therefore,the implementation of STEAM education in high school chemistry is very necessary and has important strategic significance.This thesis consists of the following six sections: The first section is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background and significance of the research.It also elaborates that the implementation of STEAM education is not only the requirement of core literacy but also theneed of national development.It shows that this thesis is based on the theoretical foundations such as constructivism theory and multiple intelligencetheory,and uses research methods such as literature method,observation method and questionnaire survey method to investigate and study.The second section is the research review,which expounds the current situation of foreign and domestic research respectively.This thesis explores the development of STEAM education from the development of STEAM macro education policy and related theoretical research,and interprets the domestic research papers on STEAM education in detail.Next,it analyzes the combination of STEAM education and chemistry.The results show that there are few theoretical studies on the combination of STEAM education and chemistry,so there are few references available.The third section is about the related theory of STEAM education,which introduces the basic framework of STEAM education,the teaching mode of STEAM education,and the characteristics of STEAM education.The teaching modes of STEAM education include multi-disciplinary integrated teaching mode,project-based teaching mode,teaching mode of cultivating innovative literacy,cooperative inquiry teaching mode.STEAM education has cross-disciplinary nature,guiding students to adapt to the constantly updated knowledge system and changing social needs.The fourth section is the investigation and analysis of the application status of STEAM teaching mode in senior high school chemistry teaching.Taking some senior high school students as the research object,the questionnaire survey method is used to understand the application of STEAM teaching mode and the learning methods of students' interest.The fifth section is a case study of senior high school chemistry which integrates STEAM education idea.The author has selected "The Properties and Uses of Sulfur Dioxide" and "Understanding the Hydrolysis of Salts" from the compulsory and elective modules for teaching design.The author also points out the fusion of this subject and STEAM education concept,which is explained in terms of the teaching goal setting,the situation analysis,the teaching process,etc.,and appliesthe STEAM teaching pattern to the classroom teaching practice.The sixth section is about the possible ways of applying STEAM teaching mode in high school chemistry,which can promote students' in-depth learning by strengthening theintegration of chemistry subjects and other subjects,integrating information technology,such as designing STEAM teaching objectives,focusing on inquiry practical projects(developing inquiry consciousness,developing social investigation and cultivating practical ability),changing traditional evaluation methods,etc.,to effectively enhance students' core accomplishment.STEAM education is an interdisciplinary education,which can guide students to adapt to the rapidly changing cultural society.It is a new teaching paradigm that breaks the traditional sub-disciplinary education.Because it can effectively cultivate innovative talents and improve the core competitiveness of the country,it is accepted and used in more and more regions.
