A consensus among history educators is that history education should not be limited to textbooks, but it should be made practical so that students could understand the history more vividly.Nowadays,a challenge that the majority of history educators face with is how to enrich the curriculum resources to promote students' enthusiasm for learning history, and how to obtain better teaching effect.During the course preparation, educators can easily get a large number of teaching materials from the Internet, however, they always feel that it is lack of innovation and authentic elements. How to develop off-campus teaching resources? How to make history education more down-to-earth? The answer can be found in a large number of museums that are located throughout China. They provide unique off-campus curriculums for history education, and a huge number of curriculum resources are there to be discovered.A museum oftentimes records a particular historical period, and provides us with rich and valuable resources for understanding the history of that particular period.Regarding museums as a precious collection of curriculum resources and teaching based on both textbooks and historical relic, will have a great impact on improving history education and the growth of students. The current thesis takes LiangShan Yizu Slave Museum as an example, discussing the auxiliary role of local museum in history education for junior high school students.LiangShan Yizu Slave Museum is located in Liangshan,Sichuan province. It is the only museum in the world that reflects the slave society.Just as the saying goes,"all history is related to contemporary days, and history is never cut off",currently the life of the Yi people in Liangshan is still affected by the slave system.People can feel the particular history vividly in the museum, and it will certainly benefit the local history education if these resources can be utilized in history courses. The current thesis contains five parts in introducing the auxiliary role of localmuseums in history education for junior high school students. The first part is the introduction session, which mainly introduces why the author chose this particular topic, and describes the general research approach, detailed research methods, previous research in the field, and the added value of the current thesis. The second part collects and sorts out the literature related to the curriculum resources in general, the curriculum resources about history subject, the museum curriculum resources and so on.Based on the related concepts, this thesis expounds the interactive relationship between museum curriculum resources and history education, which provides theoretical and practical foundation for the current research. The third part integrates the museum curriculum resources and junior high school history textbooks. It first briefly introduces LiangShan Yizu Slave Museum, and then listed in table the museum resources that can be developed into curriculum resources. The fourth part involved five teaching cases designed by the author, among which the first two cases introduce the museum curriculum resources into history education, the third case and the fourth case regard the utilization of museum curriculum resources in theme activities, and the fifth case explore the role of museum curriculum resources in semi-teaching,which leads students to visit the museum and teaches during the visit. The fifth part provides suggestions for history educators based on the content discussed in the previous parts.
