International literacy is a combination of qualities and abilities such as knowledge, skills, awareness, and value judgments that can participate in cross-cultural communication, adapt to the international competitive environment, and creatively solve international problems on their own.In the final analysis, competition between countries is a competition for talents. Therefore, the cultivation of international citizens with international literacy and their active participation in international competition is the key to adapting to the development of globalization.Undergraduates are a generation growing up in the new era of continuous globalization and informatization. They should be important participants in international competition,so they need to be internationally literate. As a major economic development province in China,Zhejiang Province has provided a solid economic foundation for the internationalization of university undergraduates. It is of practical and practical value to collect primary data to explore the international literacy status and its influencing factors of undergraduates in Zhejiang Province.Scholars at home and abroad pay more attention to speculation in the existing research on university internationalization and student internationalization, lack of in-depth empirical exploration from the perspective of students, and the analysis of the actual status of internationalization literacy of undergraduates is weak.In order to explore the current situation of international literacy of undergraduates in Zhejiang Province, this study is based on the analysis of the structural elements of international literacy by existing scholars, and combines the “iceberg model”,The undergraduates' internationalization literacy is divided into four dimensions, from top to bottom are rich internationalization knowledge, skilled internationalization skills,action-oriented internationalization awareness and multiple shared internationalization values, and themeasurement dimension is constructed accordingly. The research uses cluster random sampling to collect pre-survey data, and conducts project analysis and reliability and validity tests to form the final formal questionnaire.During the formal survey, six colleges and universities were selected, which were divided into five levels: the original 985 colleges, provincial key colleges,Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run colleges, local colleges, and independent colleges.A total of 850 questionnaires were issued using a combination of stratified sampling and random sampling,755 questionnaires were recovered,of which 665 were valid.Based on the difference analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and mediation effect test, and based on the discussion of the results, the study found that:(1)The international literacy of undergraduates in Zhejiang Province is at a medium-to-high level, where “values” and “consciousness” are already above the average level, but “knowledge” and “skills” are still average,so they still need to be improved;(2)undergraduates' international literacy is not significantly different in different background variables.International literacy has significant differences in home location, college type, and discipline, but there is no significant difference in gender and grade;(3)family capital, school support, and student international participation all have a significant positive impact on the international literacy of undergraduates;(4)school support, student international participation, and family capital can jointly predict the undergraduates' international literacy, and draw a standardized regression equation on international literacy: undergraduate international literacy = 45.493+0.806*school support+ 0.451* students International participation +0.757 * family capital;(5)school support and student international participation act as intermediary variables between the amount of family capital and undergraduate international literacy, and the mediating effect of school support is significantly stronger than student international participation. In response to the above conclusions,in order to substantially improve the level of international literacy of undergraduates in Zhejiang Province, colleges and universities:(1)should be student-oriented and take advantage of Sino-foreigncooperative education to increase the breadth and depth of Sino-foreign cooperative education in higher education;(2)in order to reduce the gap in international literacy among students with different families' capital,we should take care of the disadvantaged family students, start with financial support and education, and strengthen the support for the cultivation of international literacy of disadvantaged family students;(3)promote the international interaction of teachers and systematically add international courses to strengthen the support of colleges and universities to promote the development of international literacy of students;(4)in order to stimulate students' participation in international activities,a “wide-field,multi-level” international student participation platform is established;(5)in order to promote the effective implementation of the above measures and timely feedback and correction of the literacy development process,it is necessary to evaluate the staged level of international literacy of undergraduates.
